Will the "new input method" be finished by the beginning of this year's FA period, or should we just send in our offers to HawksGM?

Bids will be done the same way they were last year, through the GM Actions section.

There might be some backend changes, but nothing that affects you guys.

that's because you can't offer minimum players two year contracts....

http://kb.ssbabasketball.com/wiki/Free_Agency_%28Rules%29#Minimum

Reason:
Let's say you take a guy and give him a minimum salary of 465k.  For his second year, with a 10% raise, that would be a max salary 511k.  The minimum based on experience is 540k.  Doesn't work.

Let's say you offer someone a 2 year minimum, and the guy has 4 years of experience.  You offer him 590k his first year (the minimum based on experience).  With 10% raises, that gives you the ability to offer him a max of 649k his second year.  Uh oh.  Minimum allowed based on someone with 5 years experience is 653k.

You can't do 2 year minimum contracts.  Never have been able to, and it's clearly written that minimum contracts are one year deals in the rules.

Where have you been the last 15 sim seasons?

well, you can offer 1st year players 2 yr contracts and you can offer 10+ yr veterans 2 yr contracts in FBB.
it's possible.

if it's prohibited, that's understandable, but i'm not sure it hasn't happened here, and I know for sure it happens in other leagues

Just entering my FA bids, having cap space for one max guy. The instructions on the FA page say pick Max and # of years, and the rest will be automatically filled in. I noticed that when I entered max for 6 years for one ex-King  Thumbs Up, it entered a raise of 12.5% rather than the 10% I'm supposed to be able to offer. I noticed I can also enter 7 years rather than the rule listed max of 6 years.

Should I worry about this? Will my bids be entered at the 10% or should I enter the 10% manually? I don't want to make any extra work for Hawks - will he have to manually change this?

minimum contracts have always been 1 year deals in ssba.  I wouldn't change it now, but it's hawks call.

Nets: When entering "max" it fills in the max possible.  Basically, in FBB there's a button to hit called "max".  It will automatically fill in the max raises along with max years, so that's why I have the form to do the max possible for anyone (because HawksGM won't actually be entering in the years and raise, the program will do it)

I should clarify this.

If you just enter "Max", it will enter 1 year.  The year length you do chose, the raise % and starting salary gets filled in automatically.
