Mr. O'Connell is on the block.

Looking for high draft picks - mostly interested in 2021 Firsts or really, really high 2020 Firsts. I'd also like matching expiring or youth on rookie or similar contracts..and Cash.

Here is a quick synopsis of Barton's year so far:

49/49 games played
39.2 mpg (T1st in League)
28.5 ppg (4th in League)
9.4 apg (10th in the League - without any really star teammates)
2.4 topg (a great a:to)

And the here are the two major stats:

.528 FG% (2nd in League)
.483 3PT% (4th in League)

Only 30 years old so he is right in his prime as evidenced by his career year. Signed to a pretty good contract and don't forget the last few years can be bought out as I certainly kept that in mind when I was offering the contract.

PM me with ideas.

Thanks.

Is it my reputation of over-valuing my players that is keeping everyone from showing interest in Barton...or is it just the fact that every damn team has a starting-calibar PG?

My asking price really isn't that high! Just ask!

Even I, with the worst record in the league, have 2 good options at PG. My backup (Havlicek) has a B+ outside, A handles and A- defense...

Drafts are heavy with "League Ready" PG's, or at least after training camp

that'S the problem, just look at the award page:

Player of the week
1 Barton O'Connell PG Raptors
2 Yao Ming C Trailblazers
3 Maximiano Gutierrez PG Pistons
4 Richard Milner PG Bulls
5 Eddie Uner PG Jazz
6 Barton O'Connell PG Raptors
7 Richard Milner PG Bulls
8 Richard Milner PG Bulls
9 Maximiano Gutierrez PG Pistons
10 Barton O'Connell PG Raptors
11 Barton O'Connell PG Raptors
12 Richard Milner PG Bulls
13 Lafayette Lever PG Spurs
14 Richard Milner PG Bulls
15 Devin Harris PG Rockets
16 Yao Ming C Trailblazers
17 Magic Johnson PG Kings
18 Patrick Gatling SG Timberwolves

18 weeks and 15 of those a PG won the award.
Milner, Barton (who both took all POTM awards), Lever (who took all ROTM awards), Maxi, Uner, Harris, Magic.
Ridiculous. And studs like Lord, Khoury, Perry, Brice, Ramsey, Evans, Ransey, Cheeks, Marquez, even Isiah ...

this list is unbelievable long ... and every draft a few more come in.

Barton is clearly one of the best out there, but the market for PGs has never been tougher ...

True, but Barton is IMO the clear #2 PG in this league behind Milner.

While every team has a starting calibar PG, only ONE team has a better or equal version of Barton.

It's true that he wouldn't be a perfect fit on every team as not everyone is set up for their top scorer to be their PG. But so many are.

Look at my roster - aside from Barton, it's pretty ugly. Look at my record. That's what he does for his team.

You are so on target here ... without Barton you'd probably miss the playoffs.

Without Barton I believe I would be cemented in the bottom 5 in the league.

True, but would you give up a whole heap to upgrade your PG, when you can have a very good one and pay the same price for a star in another area...?

i agree. if you can add a similar wing or a C for this price you would do it. but a PG is so much easier to find. just curious: why every sim leagues is lead by pgs awards after several seasons?

Hey Guys

I just got a PM from a concerened GM about the fact that we aren't really discussing Barton's trade value here and that it was a violation of the rules

I just wanted to say that since I started and am still facilitating the discussion, I have no major problems on it  Thumbs Up
