I picked 'Nique b/c draftees are supposedly set to perform at a level similar to their rookie season + I have his known potential, which is quite high. I'm hoping he can turn into a 20+ ppg scorer, and that his d will improve _significantly_.

If i'm not completely off here, the Hornets checked FIVE trup pots (to make it absolutely sure he gets it right), the Clippers NONE, the Knicks ONE (got it right immediately) and the Lakers NONE as well (did trust their instincts ...)

Smile

That's correct. There is one other guy in the top 5 that I considered taking over Nique. Who it is will be a mystery until TC  Shocked

I didn't check Cummings because I presumed he would be gone already.

He will be the best scorer from this draft, but ...
I doubt ANYONE EVER accused Nique of playing defense. So if you're waiting for THAT part of his game ...

Eh, I'd be fine if he got up to a B+. B- to B+ is doable with his potential. I don't have super high hopes though.

his jumping alone (if he's made correctly) should increase his defensive rating by one, so he might be closer to C+, C than B- in real defense.

but then again, we've seen stranger things happening in FBB.

I could be wrong, but I don't think jumping boosts the defense grade (just tested it out) -- it boosts inside scoring and rebounding.
Anyway, I can count a huge number of instances where people have gone from B- to B+/A-. FBB doesn't know that he didn't play D in real life, and it won't restrict gains in that area...

In any event, the draft was a bit weak at the top, and there was no clear #1 in my eyes after viewing the potentials. He could bust or blow up. I'm hoping for the latter.

I am happy with my pick. I was thinking either Thompson or Cummings with the 2nd pick. I did not check true potential on Thompson. But even with little increase he will be a great player.

What do you mean?

They are programmed to put up stats similar to ones they had in their rookie seasons. (I think)

Nope, you never know what you will get from the draftees.  The stats were used to generate draftees ratings nothing more.
