Ok, i heard this from other commish.  He said that you can sign a MLE player to a long term deal if that player was on your team last year.  Here is the info

"IF A PLAYER WAS ON YOUR TEAM LAST YEAR AND HE WAS ON THE MLE YOU MAY OFFER UP TO A 6 YEAR DEAL
WITH THESE MAXIMUM SALARIES FOR EACH YEAR
1st yr 5,400,000
2nd yr 5,940,000
3rd yr 6,400,000
4th yr 7,020,000
5th yr 7,560,000
6th yr 8,100,000
THIS ONLY APPLIES TO GUYS WHO WERE ON YOUR MLE LAST YEAR.
SO IF YOU RESIGN THEM THEY ARE TRADEABLE."
I'm not sure about this and i don't have the game, can Twan or someone who have the game check this out, cuz it would change the whole FA thing with this rule.  Thax

I ran a test year.  Signed a crap player with the MLE, ran a year, went to free agency, went to this player, clicked max bid, and the same contract that you posted came up.

It is true.

You can offer them 6 year deals starting at 5.4 million with 10% raises.

Can you offer less than 6 years but with 10% increase?

Yes, you can offer less than 6 years.

So you can offer:
A starting salary of up to:
5.4 million (but can offer anything below that as well)

Maximum Raises of:
Up to 10% (anything below that as well)

Maximum # of years:
Up to 6 years (can offer anything below that)

Yeah, I asked about this in the very beginning of the league and JEM said he couldn't do it... I hope we implement the rule.

I think that if you do sign one of these deals it means that you can't use your MLE for as long as you have them signed for... Not positive about that though.

Not true.

Season one I signed Corie Blount for the MLE.

Simmed the season.  Offered Corie the 6 year deal listed above (starting at 5.4 million, 10% raises).  He accepted.  Then offered Angel Dampier the MLE.  Accepted.

Simmed the entire season.  Offered Angel Dampier the 6 year deal, he accepted.  Signed Richie Frahm to the MLE.

Simmed the year, signed Richie Frahm to the 6 year deal.  Signed Dajuan Wagner to the MLE.

Simmed the year, signed someone else to the mle.

What does it mean?

Not only can you offer a guy whom you had for the MLE that up to 6 year contract listed above, but you can use your MLE for ALL THE YEARS OF THAT CONTRACT AND STILL USE THE MLE THAT YEAR.
