I am very curious to see how everyone drafts... Will a player like Oscar Ferry be a lottery pick, or will he drop? It is tough to project, especially when you do not know the tendencies of the players of the elague. This first draft should be a good learning experience...

Big men go quick in this draft. I'd say there's no way someone with ratings roughly equal to Kenyon Martin's doesn't go top 10.

Good thing I am set with big men.. lol.
Seriously, though, I think I was looking at the draft and thinking people would be hesitant about picking players with bad potential ratings... I have to readjust my draft board accordingly...
Centers and SG's in this draft...

i think with wing players and pg's people are more hesitant with potential, less so with big men. I've done mockdrafts right before the draft before. Of course, I think I'm going to pass on doing so because I don't want to let people in on how I view them. I'm always looking to acquire extra picks and don't want to alert people to any sleepers

No, it's just big men typically are in higher demand. Even if a guy only ever gets to B inside, B defense and B rebounding for a big man it puts him in short compoany.

The bottom line on potential is that it's rare for a guy to improve vast amounts even if he has A potential. I've never seen an across the board C player develop into a star. In training camp, even a guy with great potential will only improve in 2-3 (possibly 4) areas, and most of the time the difference is only a plus/minus fraction of a grade.
For the most part, starters are only found in the lotto, although sometimes in a decent draft a pg or even a sg/sf will slip through to the later part of the draft.

For the most part after the top 10 you're looking for role players, but there are exceptions. In our last league, David Padgett went 13, and he turned into a good center. Shannon Brown went 11 and he was a virtually superstar at pg. Sean Dockery at 28 was a good pick.

If I get 2-3 improvements in Biedrins, I will be jumping up and down with joy.. lol It is pretty similar to the NBA draft then... PG-SF occasionally slip into the later rounds, but centers almost never do...

This draft is a very talented draft that will probably end up being unpredictable after the 1st 2 picks....i think most people know who will go 1 and 2 but maybe that's just me

After the first pick I think it greatly depends on the draft order.

After the first pick I think it greatly depends on the draft order. Especially if you happen to have two great post players already...

I can't name five players I'd pick over him, let alone 13. I'm sure he will be chosen somewhere in the top five.
