Well, this trade took a good hour or two to finalize. I think the deal is pretty fair. Both Randolph and Robertson are great players. But Randolph is getting old and declined in defense in tc so i felt it was time to move him. Robertson is doing really well but he does not rebound enough or block shots which are two of my weaknesses. King will probably become a decent to good player and the rest of the guys i traded i am pretty disapointed in. The first also hurts

But with this trade i'll start...
Carter
Lord
Kundla
Kirilenko
Maggette

I replace jeanette with kundla which helps because his lack of scoring was really killing me. I get Maggette who is finnally a defensive presence who can block shots and rebound. Lord is good, but i'm not to high on him. But what he is doing now is enough for me. I'm too tired to finish my thought. So guys, who got the better end of the deal?

Breaking it down by roles:

Nets do it, giving some D in the Maggette-Randolph exchange in favor of alittle more offence. Friedman, Kaman and Randolph gives me some strong rebounding to help out Robertson, and my rebounding at the 3 will definitely help (B+ and B), while the inside scoring upgrade will take pressure off my younger guards while they develop.

Lord-Robertson is risky, but I needed some more punch up front and Lord's been underachieving.

Kundla-Schenk should be just about a wash in their respective roles.

Gasol/Sanders/Rice for Jeannette/Murphy/King/2019 first and 200 is where I balanced the scales at least. I loved King during the draft and he has the makings to be a real impact 3 if he develops - and could see some time at the 4 and 2. If he does emerge, then I think the scales tip in my favor abit. Picks are always helpful for adding depth/talent or another asset to move, and sometimes in FBB you never know - some teams take unexpected turns and it might be gold.

what a joke
comparing maggette with randolph who never played any defense in his life and even more also trading lord who is a top 3 PG and not a SG for a C who isnĀ“t even near the value of maggette.
so you get older your frontcourt weaker and also gave up your best player lord..
not to mention kundla if used right is a very useful role player. he was a big reason imo that the nets won their last trophy.

horrible.

the Nets get nothing in the trade except for old veterans who will make them older and not better than with Lord/Maggette instantly and a future #20-25 pick. And they lose one of the best players in the league in the process.

Yeah, i don't like it for the Nets either.  Now their future PG is Seymore, who's not the greatest distributor and a C+ defender.  When Lord was playing PG the last two seasons, he averaged 19.5/10.2 the one year and 24.1 and 7.2 the next.  Easily a top 3 PG.  He's been playing out of position since, which is why he's underachieving, and I definitely think the wrong PG was traded.  When Lord goes back to playing PG (which is what he was doing every year up until this point), he'll go back to 22/8 with amazing percentages.

The funny part is, the Grizz are hands down winner in this deal, but i can't see them getting any better.

The have 2 starting calibre PGs now, neither of whom is a good fit at SG, and no real starting SG. But at least Lord/Kundla are an improvement over Watson/Jeannette.

Up front they'll lose Robertson for Maggette, who will score less and block more. Also replacing Zach with ancient Gasol or Lo will cost them big scoring up front.

So with the frontcourt going from from 48ppg to 28ppg the backcourt of Lord & Kundla will have to go from 15ppg to 35ppg to even match their mediocre 91ppg as a team. That won't win you many games. So unless someone explodes offensively they will stay mediocre, after overachieving with JRob and Zach for some seasons now.

But maybe I just don't see the plan here ...

My starting lineup will be

Maggette
Kirilenko
Kundla
Lord
Carter

I see your point though. A big reason why I did this is to get younger, which i definitally did. So now I dont need to rebuild hardly at all. I know i'll be playing people out of position but i think the defense of the team will be much better thank before. As far as the offense goes, it can't get any worse than it is now, i dont think  Lol 2

But I think this lineup is temporary since i am looking to trade kirilenko and carter.

The funny part is,

...is that i offered Ty Chandler or Tanner for Lord and Nets said he's looking for something a little more long term. Not sure how Zach's fits into that.
