I'm just kidding with you man, he's a great player...but if he keeps leading yo deep into the playoffs (and there's no denying that) why deal him?

why is even on the block then? no one would give up half of his starters or a future ALLstar and i guess everyone tried already.

he wants to see Keogan's value in the market.

and by putting him on the block doesn't neccessarily mean that not dealing him is already out of the picture.

I disagree.

When you offer a player there should be some kind of goal visible you try to accomplish in a deal. Putting players out for a market tryout is nice, but what should someone bid for him ?

Youth?
When you want youth for a 27yr old you mean a rookie contract which not only makes salaries hard to match, but nobody would give a young player than looks like he can get better than VK in a season or two, and you wouldn't trade VK for a young player that can NOT get better than VK in a season or two.
 Bash

Veterans (meaning players AFTER the rookie contract)?
Not what you ask for, but maybe a good player at a different position would do. My gut feeling is that VK won't go for an older player unless it's a superstar (Pettit, Howard, that's about it. But none of those would go for VK)

Picks?
There is zero guarantee how a pick will pan out and I doubt you'd take the risk of a non-lotto pick, and as the standings get clearer later in the season it's still a big unknown we're talking about here. My guess is that VK won't go for a pick that couldn't be #1 (but again, no pick looking it could get #1 pick would go for VK)

So here's the dilemma. By putting out VK with about zero chance he'll be traded you won't get any information on his market status. Maybe a few mediocre offers and maybe someone even breaks the bank and throws in a lottery pick for a chance to win now (which of course you think is nice but will never accept).

As long as you treat a one-dimensional top scorer like the new coming of real superstar (like GP) don't expect any offers you like in return ...

who's gp? Smile

I believe what HeatGm wants to point out here is that he is open into trading VK but not disclosing the fact that he might not even trade him at all.

From what I heard from him..

He really did trade for Keogan because the primary goal was to get Edgar Barner from the Wiz. But it turns out that the WizGM isn't interested in trading Edgar Barner for Vince Keogan. Thus, the HeatGM is still in his long time quest of trading Keogan for an elite frontcourt player in the league.

Sadly everyone underrates Keogan, mainly because of his low potential rating, which I think is very deceptive. Mainly because Keogan is still 27 years old (he entered the league when he was about 19 years old) and haven't shown any signs of slowing down 30, 33, 30, 31ppg in his last four years)

ok, so i'm trading with all of Manila here Smile)

anyway, great you talk about Barner like he's from outta space, and not on YOUR roster. guess you think - despite Barners decline - he's not worth Keogan as well. So welcome ...
 Thumbs Up

but again, i'm not saying that offering people is a bad concept even when you have no real intentions for a trade, but if it's THAT obvious that he won't be traded (courtesy of the huge disparity between Keogans value judged by his GM and the rest of the league) he doesn't have to wonder that no real offers will come in.

dude...i am not expecting something like a superstar in return  Very Happy keogan is a part of my success in making into the playoffs so i treat him like a superstar....how can be a one dimensional player be included in a Third all league team especially when your competng against superstars SG in the league like pettit, gatling and etc.? making this trade block i am not expecting anything coz im already satisfied with my team...i just wanna put him on the block just in case a better offer comes by  Very Happy new season...new rosters...new gms...new needs  Very Happy ofcourse i dont wanna trade keogan for a mediocre player since i dont have a pick and ruining my chances in making it into the playoffs  Very Happy
