George Johnson
David Jonas
Jaime Ruiz
Sixers' 1st rounder this year (2016)

for

Edgar Barner
Donta Smith

Why for the sixers:
I might have given up too much. But Im really looking for someone to accompany Tyler up front.

To explain further this trade:

I do believe that George Johnson will be a very good player in the league. He's is very sound offensively and defensively. Probably the 2nd best SF every drafted, behind Larry Bird. On the other hand, Edgar Barner is probably one of the only rare species of well rounded frontcourt players. He and John Tyler would work perfectly, specially on grabbing the boards and blocking shots.

On the other hand, I receive Donta Smith who was averaging 19ppg. He'll play a significant role off the bench with Juan Ward. He was also once a Slam Dunk champion, he might teach a few tricks for Dr.J. Very Happy

The trade improved my team, offensively and defensively. I might have given some valuable things along the way, but I do believe that its worth it. Compared to my last year's team, my team is more defensive oriented and has more consistency scoring wise.

Hopefully we can make some noise this year.

Besides the fact that Jonas has probably the worst contract in the league, Wizards got a VERY Good deal...

Interesting...I would take Johnson over Donta right now, and he's just a rookie, so he will only be getting better. Jonas, Ruiz, and the pick for Barner is probably in favor of the Sixers, but I think overall, the Wizards get the better end of the deal. But the Sixers do now have a sick PF/C combo with Tyler and Barner.

Its more like.. George Johnson for Barner deal. Then Jaime Ruiz, Jonas and the 1st for Donta Smith. I won't lie to you that the Wiz really got somehow a small edge to the deal (I think it was the 1st) But I also wont lie to you, I love my team after the trade.

Well I just did it like that because Donta and George are the same position. Actually, when you look at it your way, it seems like an even better deal for the Wizards, lol. But yeah, it wasn't so bad for you either.

Hahaha  Thumbs Up yeah, i also think so.. Actually that was what I explained to him in my trade offer. I was comparing them depending on their roles in the trades, where Barner and Johnson being the main characters in the deal. I really think that talentwise, it was not really a good deal for my team. But well I guess, I just follow what my team needs. And what It needs did ask for a large price to pay.

actually...this is a fair deal IMO....

the wizards already have schmaltz and dickman so barner is really dispensable and filled in their hole in the SF and SG in johnson and jonas while dumping donta smith's huge contract and poor defense...
sixers on the other hand got what they wanted...a star PF/C...they have two huge rebounding machine now...and with donta smith's 19ppg..they have upgraded their offense...last season they are leading in the league in ppg and they will be continuing that style of play this season....with more offense and upgraded rebounding from last years roster....

i think sixers should have kept jaime ruiz...the trade is already good and fair without ruiz...

bottom line is: two teams got wat they wanted...both will be in the playoffs..this will make the competition in the east A LOT MORE TOUGHER THAN BEFORE....im just glad i have my picks back...im not sure if il be a lottery team or a playoff team  Very Happy

You'll be a lottery team man.. definitely! hahahaha! just kidding!

Anyway, on your breakdown on the deal. I think that a trade of Donta and Barner for Johnson and Ruiz would be fair. But adding Jonas and the 1st was too much. Jonas was going to be a third stringer, so I didn't really give him much importance. And that really hurt me in the deal.

And I agree with what you said. THe bottom line is both teams got what they wanted. Both teams became better. And that satisfied the purpose of trading with other team, making each other better.

barner for johnson and a first would have been enough

no need to trade for donta for the sixers imo
jonas and ruiz are too much for a backup wing with a horrible contract.

The trade has been reworked so that Jonas can be traded because he has just resigned.

Trade 1
Edgar Barner
-for-
David Jonas

Trade 2
Donta Smith
-for-
Jaime Ruiz
George Johnson
Sixers' 1st rounder this year (2016)
