i doubt this trade can be cancelled.

As far as I know bods, if the 2nd posted deal, that has been accepted too, works, it's a done deal, count on it.

The 2nd deal would have worked only before the Hawks drafted their 2nd rounder...  That is why it had to be re-worked again...  Thanx for your concern though...

just try to help wherever i can.

well, the deal acceptance from the hawks was posted well AFTER the Hawks pick selection was announced, so if that's the reason it's not working than it shouldn't work like posted. And if it's not working it's no deal, even if it's off by a fraction ...

You are correct that the posted deal doesn't work

So go ahead and try a variation, but hughes + maggette can't be combined.

When could they be combined, this off-season shit is very confusing???

Also, the original trade should work...  You do not need enough cap-space to absorb the difference, or else there is a glitch in the Trade Checked you have us using...  What you are saying is that you can't trade a $20,000,000 for a 21,000,000 if the team only has $500,000 in cap-room to absorb...

According to the Trade Checker, this works:

Paul Maggette

-for-

James Fisher
Desagana Diop
Charles Phelps
2016 Pistons 1st
2017 Hawks 1st

part 2

Larry Hughes

-for-

Sandy Watson
Detlef Oberle
$5,000,000 trade exception

PISTONS ACCEPT...

actually it's pretty easy.

when both teams are over tha sal cap trades must be within 15%
when one team has cap space left, the trade must be within that cap space.

Pistons are over the cap
Hawks have 1.8 mio cap space

Pistons send 23.5 mio salaries
Hawks will have to send AT LEAST 21.7 mio salaries

The strange thing is, if the Hawks had NO cap space, they ould only need to send approximately 20.4 mio salaries. And now somebody tells me he REALLY understands the CBA ...

as CelticsgGM said, 15% rule only applies when both teams are over the cap.  the trade checker I might have may not take that into account, and we've apparently never run into it.  I will look at it over the weekend and see what I can do.

I am sorry, but this is fucking stupid...  and it makes no fucking sense...  Am I basically screwed???  Your basically telling me it is not possible to make a trade and have it make one team go over the cap...  Wat are my options???  Wait till he signs one player that puts him over the cap???  This is completely pointless...

and thus the last posted deal still doesn't work.

Maggette makes slightly less than the Hawks cap plus Fisher/Phelps/Diop. so part 1 is ok
after the first deal the Hawks have 73k capspace left
but in deal 2 Hughes makes MORE (10.3) mio than Watson/Oberle + 73k (=10.02 mio). Doesn't work.

So the Hawks have to add one more player to their side of deal 2

Sorry for my ranting, but I put a decent amount of time into getting this to work using your trade checker and you are saying it's no good...

FBB is saying the salaries are legal now, so it will go through.

And to clarify, Pistons, FBB didn't come with a trade checker.  The trade checker is something I put up a considerable amount of my own damn time putting together.  Nowhere did I claim it's 100% accurate (although it's pretty goddamned close).

BTW, when using the trade checker, did you update the hawks salary under cap room at the top?
