Well, just a dandy way to finish off the season...miss the playoffs by 2 games, and life gets in the way with something sudden causing me to miss posting the depth chart, and therefore miss the bonus.

yay!, home court advantage!  Very Happy

I split the season series against the Cavs, and they played better overall. Could be an upset...

i'll be facing the pacers in the first round...in the series im up 2-1....but i still see matchup problems...

last season keogan was averaging 30 ppg and avergaing 33pg during playoffs....players seems to play better in the playoffs...keogan could be averaging 36ppg... and yao ming could be averaging 39-40ppg...can he make it?  Very Happy

once again a nice season for the heat Very Happy

nice 5-2 finish proved i can beat just anybody if my team is healthy. Lol 2
this sim i beat the nets, hornets, warriors and finished my sweep of the ancient

and here we go again:
this time it is tanner who could miss the whole first round. Since i will face the heat who are very quick it might be an advantage
anyway i predict a nice series and hopefully my guys can steal the homecourt advantage  Cheers
sadly the Celtics were afraid of my team and decided that the magic are an easier opponent  Bash

Well oh well, that nearly went the wrong way.

Decided to give my superstars (aka the guys i have absolutely no replacement for) a rest and let the young guys play out the season finale. Courtesy of a 3-7 record i can only thank the Nets for keeping my home court advantage over the Magic in the last game of the regular season ... pffffff. ok, it WAS a bad sim but I lost to the Bucks in double OT and to Nuggets in OT, so a 5-5 record with THAT personnel would have been a GREAT sim !!! (btw, funny that I lost to just about every bad team but BEAT the Heat 117-114 ...)
 Thumbs Up

So this is not the Celtice Pride you'll see in the playoffs but I made some observations nevertheless. Strait is the real deal. Give him 2 more seasons and he will get award considerations. Griffin is great, I'm glad i got him last season. Stockton did just great at SG defensively (against everybody but Maggette), too bad i had nobody to score consistently otherwise.

PG Julius Smith, my 2nd round pick, won ROOKIE OF THE MONTH for the last month despite only starting one sim and playing backup two more. Guess a ROY wasn't out of question given more opportunities, but as always it's hard to beat guys who regularly start on mediocre teams. Still, BRAVO Jules ...
 Cheers Cheers Cheers

So, what's next?

Trying to figure out how to stop Brice, Dwight and Andris, not let Profit or Peters go off, and secure a date with the Hornets/Cavs winner. This year I guess the whole East is wide open from #1 to #8. A quick exit is as likely as a CF berth, but that's the fun part of the season now ...

Oh, and some more hardware:
Julius getting all 2nd team Rookie honors and Matrix All League 2nd team and All Defensive 2nd team.

nice ...

If the Wolves Elliott didn't also get selected to the Rookie 2nd team with astounding 1.6ppg, 1.2rpg (career high 7/6/2) it would actually mean something.

No, my friend, I would have preferred the Pacers, where I actually can't see any cirumstance where I could lose more than one game in the series, both playing at full strength. I talked about avoiding the Nets earlier, who I still see stronger overall than the Hornets and believe I don't match up good against.

But all that might not matter if I can't solve the Magic in the first place. Having home court could be huge as every team lost all road contests so far. Of course, most duels came before they aquired Biedrins and before I aquired Strait and Shard. So may the best win and we all stay injury free ...

damn....managed to overtake Kings but Warriors had a bad sim and now i have to play team i most wanted to avoid in RD1,
whish i got Rockets as Kings, probably another 1st round early departure for my team altough i did beat Warriors for
1st time this sim, we're 1-3 in series now. Sad

it was a bad 3-3 sim overall....with 2 suprising losses to Bulls and league's 2nd worst team Sonics at home WTF happened
there to lose at home to Sonics ??

Sim:
@ Jazz 104-78...nice win...5 guys with 10 or more rebs, amazing, Hoffa 19/14, Clement 16/10, Buehler 16/15, Bosh 14/14 and
Cunningham 8/10...Cunny was shooting bad, 1 more good shot and we would see something that rarely happened, 5 guys with
double digit (pts/rebs). Telf had 13/8....he be another one.

@ Bulls 87-103...very suprising loss, Hoffa 33/12, Clement 13/9 led scorers, Telf was miserable 3-21 FG shooting WTF
is that mr.Telf ????

vs Nets 101-110...this was no suprise and thank god they didnt demolish my team like last time, Hoffa dropped 29/5 in
little time he was playing, Telf 21/6/12....Clement did well as well but on defense he couldnt do anything on Pettit.

vs Warriors 92-79... hopefully this win gave my team confidence for round 1 clash with Warriors...Hoffa was shooting
bad, but still managed a nice 26/21 performance....Clement added 19/9, Bosh 19/12, Telf must improve his offense a bit or
we're screwed.

@Grizzlies 92-71...Grizz would be a perfect team to play in PO...dont remember when they won last time, Hoffa had a good
28/17 4stl game...Telf even better...23/7/9 6stl 1blk.

vs Sonics 84-89...now WTF WTF WTF WTF ?? how can this happen ?? unexplainable loss....i hope they were resting for PO's
otherwise i'll have to kick some asses.Hoffa left season with 32/15 3blk, Telf 14/14, Clement failed on offense.

AS for player achievements...Hoffa 8th in scoring and 4th in rebs...All-League 3rd team
Telf dropped out of TOP 10 in apg and spg
 after mediocre 2 sims...

Now comes the Warriors....UFF

Won the division with a 5-0 finish.  Very happy on how this team finished the season.  Melo and LeBron both all league first and third team. Cheers  Will play the Timberwolves in the first round, should be a good match.

Some observations on the season:

I'm very very happy the Timberwolves made it to the post season. Who remembers that bods nearly cost them the season with that 0-8 sim1 debacle courtesy of a messed-up lineup. And props to them for holding onto KG. It's wonderful having guys retire in jerseys the donned all their career, and most GMs, including myself, are still trying to get extra return value for such great vets at the end of their career. So hats off, Keith, that's truly classy ...
 Bounce

Speaking of staying power. Do you realize the 2007 Nets were starting Chauncey - Pettit - Battier - Emeka - Samy ? It's amazing that 3 of those guys still start for them, and Battier plays a backup role at least. Imagine them bringing Chauncey back (who's doing great with the young Sonics), would you BET AGAINST that team going all the way, even now, 7 seasons later?
 Thumbs Up

And while they may not make it all the way, I still find it amazing what the Warriors and Kings have done. One team lost up two cornerstones and still stayed close to the top for much of the season, the other one looking finished, literally, with guys past their deadline. Only they kept winning and winning and winning. And did stay reasonable healthy, which i thought was impossible considering the minutes thoes poor oldies had to play.
 Shocked

Also an amazing job from the sixers, making their 20-win team from 2 seasons ago (26 last year) into a 47-win playoff squad who contended for home court around the trade deadline. If there would be a GM of the year vote I guess he would be my top candidate for this honor. This team has no real star power yet gels at the highest level. Great job ...
 Cheers

Looking at the past draft I believe Roan, Lundy and Laporte did prove they belong. (I would include Marquez too but 9 wins isn't cutting it, no matter what team you field). O'Neil is clearly the most disappointing story so far, he has shown nothing in the minutes he got. I'm against rooting for my own players but I believe Jules Smith did a way better job than many of his fellow rookies picked ahead of him (right up to #7 pick Gresham, who wasn't bad either). Oh, and sorry for making fun of Harris earlier making the all-2nd team. Steven Sparks (2.3ppg, 2.2 rpg in 11.7mpg) was 1ST TEAMER !!! Man, this SF class was unbelievable bad ...
 Alcoholic

And now, the real season is upon us ...

I was looking at the results day by day and was amazed to see my team start off 5-0, only to lose the last 3, keeping the Cavs at the 8th spot. Nevertheless, it was an excellent finish to the season, winning 15 of the last 19 games. Staying at 8th with a 1st round matchup against #1 seed Hornets may not be such a bad thing after the way the season series turned out. Anything can happen, and I'm hoping for the upset, but I'll be happy if my team just made it an interesting series that lasts at least 6 games. Can't expect too much out of the young guys...
