I was waiting for the first part of the deal to be accepted....and was typing my acceptance as you posted.

Spurs agree.  We get another young big man prospect (Rubini) plus much needed cap flexibility.  Gasol's numbers have been slipping for the past couple of seasons and for his contract the long term outlook was bleak.

Kings - Well, i did it just to stay somehow competitive. Bibby, Mcgrady, Dirk, Gasol, Booth are nice starting five. Off course, no depth whatsoever and age kills every chance to be a serious contender. But at least i'l win some games next season since i don't have my pick.

Warrirors - I like this deal for them. Dirk is old, Hinrich gone. Rebuilding is logical. Iggy is a great all round talent + lotto pick in 2017 is surely nice.

Spurs - Beats me. If he did it for the cap relif, at least he could have asked for expirings and some picks or at least a pick. I think Gasol definitely worths that much.

Overall, i like it off course. I still want to win some games until the real draft time comes. Then we'll do the complete rebuild.

ridiculous.

makes no sense for anyone but Kings.
spurs get older and worse (plus a bad rookie contract)
warriors essentially trade Dirk for Iggy which is a big bullshit. Iggy was FILLER when they traded for Dirk.
kings get a star PF, a still top PF/C, a 3yr younger version of Turkoglu

but nice it got accepted

oh and that pick is in THREE seasons. Unbelievable.

Nobody, really nobody knows what happens till then. TMac and Dirk will 100% be traded if the Kings win it all, giving them enough material to rebuild. In three seasons they can easily be a playoff team again.

Congratulations Ivan, and no, I didn't doubt YOU but I didn't believe anyone would fall for such a ...  Alcoholic

Nobody's going to be giving up much to help in the Kings rebuilding effort if he wins it this year and is about to turn 35.  There just aren't many people who stay at a high level of play for that long.  Dirk and Pau will both be shells in a couple years.  But you gotta at least get a top 10 pick out of the deal.

I don't think there's a doubt that he either gets pick(s) or expirings or both out of these former stars. He also could just buy them out. Either way, expect him to have enough cap space to make a major jump in FA in 2015 or 2016 when the hard cap finally is active and people will save money.

The 2017 pick is now as worthless as the 2015 pick.

Poor Sonics. Please believe me I had no clue whatsoever that the Kings would find someone for such a deal.

Well, I am glad that certain people think Gasol is sooooo valuable.  If someone would have offered a pick I would have taken one.  Part of the problem was that I was still in negotiations when the Kings posted the deal.  He asked if he could and before I could reply he posted it.  Rather than cause a turmoil I accepted.

Over the next 3 years I cut 10,253,818/11,099,276/20,598,755 of salary.  IMO more than just a little cap relief....especially with the hard cap kicking in.

And as I said before Gasol's numbers have been slipping the past 2 seasons so I'm not sure he can still be considered on of the top PF/C in the league.  That is if he ever was.

I gave up a decling 32 PF that would probably be my #3 big man and a 30 yr backup swingman that was inconsistent at best. In return I get a 24 yr 7 footer that is already an A- defender and can still improve given his age.  Also I get a young swingman with B potential.  Hedo & Posey are expirings...so I gave up a $10 mil expiring to get back almost $17 mil in exprirings.

So I gave up a 32 yr old PF/C + $10 mil in expirings for a 24 yr old PF/C and a young prospect + $17 mil in expirings.

Reggie Evans
Jeff Foster
Drew Gooden

Chris Kaman
Mikan
David West
Alexis Hardaway
Diop
Ivan Litwack
Brad Miller
Loren Woods
Jerome moiso
Steven Hunter
Michael Doleac
Troy Murphy
Nick Collison
Mike dunleavy
Chris Andersen
Curtis Borchardt
Francisco Elson
Jake Tsakalidis

he'll get one or two of those, for MLE, LLE or min. I can't believe how naive anyone here is. Kings are the master of role players, they ALWAYS had just two or three stars and fillers around those. Brings them no title but they'll contend every year.

his starting 5 could be one of the best rebounding teams already since t-mac and dirk are very good reb at SG and Sf

i agree with celtics. well done ivan you are the true master of a quick rebuilding.
if i remember right iggy was traded for finley and something and now he is worth dirk and a young C...
And Gasol might be not the dominating man but he is perfekt in his role as a 3rd scoring option and can still rebound and defend a little bit imo.
Of course ivan you will loose again this time in the finals against my team
