I wish I could have gotten Stromile for last season's playoffs, but it wasn't to be.
As it is, he gives me a legit 3rd option at SF.
Priddy had another good TC, but with the rest of my key players aging, I needed to make a move to improve my team for the remaining years I have left.

So WHY? well, it was time for me to abandon the title aspirations with my vets. Stromile, Thomas, Blount (retired) and Booth all are way past their 30th birthday and these plus Ginobili, Redd and Billups simply weren't getting it done consistently. So out goes the best scoring and blocking big man the Celtics ever had and in comes a young stud, a pick and a darn good seasoned veteran - who'll probably never done Celtics green before being moved again. I'll probably mediocre for some seasons before the young core can take over (Reed, Schabinger, Tower, Lenard, Priddy and Roof) and it will take a few more trades to make other teams better and me even younger, but at least it's a "restructuring in dignity" !  |

Celtics then would sign 11-year veteran Pedrag Drobnjak from the former Yugoslavia to a minimum contract and ship him alongside Stromile to the Hornets, thus making this a 1-1 deal.
Of course, all this after aquiring a huge 2nd rounder for Brand and cutting Kidd again.
(now wait a moment, i had Brand AND Kidd ? Damn ... ! Oh, THAT Brand and THAT Kidd .... pfuuuhhh)

So, "MAKING IT WORK, PART II" Celtics then would sign 15-year veteran Tim Thomas from wherever to a minimum contract and ship him alongside Stromile to the Hornets, thus making this a 2-2 deal. Of course, all this after aquiring a huge 2nd rounder for Brand and cutting Kidd again. |
