I like Jackson better than Nets does, but I wouldn't have taken him in the top 10, I don't think.

His outside shot should increase (he won't be taking 3 pointers, and that and his C free throw rating weights his outside rating down more than it should for an inside guy) and he's an A post defender with a B potential for perimeter defense.  Sure, he's lacking in quickness, but I'll take a Robert Traylor-type project at pick 16.

Again, he's not going to turn into a star, but he should help my team out.  That's enough for me.

don't get me wrong, i'm by no means talking about player VALUE, only RATINGS. Thats why you can't just draft using fomulas. I agree that i would never have drafted Jackson in the top 8 at least, but beyond ... ?

Some example: In the last 4 drafts a total of 400 players were available. Among the top 50 are 6 players not even in the league anymore (undrafted or since cut 2nd rounders), and i doubt anyone remembers names like Wilson, Speer, and Provencher anymore. btw, current #1 pick Siegel didn't crack that top 50 list (as didn't former #3 pick Gerstl) ...

That said my formula is most likely crap.

Just look at my draft pick, who i'll select tonight. His ratings are horrible, he plays no defense, he doesn't even crack the top 60 in THIS draft. Yet he kicks some ass playing ...  Laughing
