I went with inside scoring back then, I guess he doesn't like contact and prefer to go outside or he pulled a Vince Carter on me and want to get out of Dallas. I feel bad for you, because I think it is option 2.

... Pettit? Are you kidding me? Tmac owns him everytime they meat! Only the last time Nets beat the hell out of me and Pettit scored more pts while shutting down Mcgrady. I have no idea what are you talking about. And again, good guess but not close in reality. Dating back to 2008 season there were 10 matchups of Kings and Nets. Nets won the first 5, lost the next 4 and won the last again this year. During these games - Pettit got 29.4ppg, 7.2rpg, 4apg on .491 shooting - TMac got 29.8ppg, 6.8rpg, 4.5apg on .483 shooting Additionally, Pettit had more steals and TMac had more TOs. not exactly what i'd call "own" And even during the Kings 4game win streak the difference wasn't overwhelming. Tmac scored more (34.8 to 27.3 ... on identical .495 shooting), Pettit got more boards (8.0 to 5.8 ) and assists were equal. Sure, all this doesn't take supporting cast into account, since the Nets wins came during the Kings' "Gooden years" while the strike back happened to start shortly before Hoffa came in. But the direct matchup of these superb players i'd call dead even (with a tiny tiny nod to Pettit for the fewer TOs) ...

Exactly!
Pay attention to the period when i finally got a good frontcourt. One that can match equally to the Nets frontcourt.
Before that they were almost identical, both at 29ppg. But when Pettit goes inside he runs into Brad Miller and Chris Webber (or Jeromie Mosio). Not exactly a defensive intimidators. But what happened when Mcgardy goes inside? There are 2 best shotblockers in the game Emeka Okafor and Sammy Dalembert. Not to mention the fact that the Nets were so much better team overall then the Kings at that time so it's was even easier for Pettit to have a better stats then Mcgrady.
But! Once when i brought Hoffa (someone who can finally spread the floor for Tmac) and Camby (A defender with 2bpg) look what happened! Tmac outscored him by 7.5pts! His numbers went up by 6 (!) while Pettit's went down by 2! They were "dead even" until the point when Tmac finally gotten some true help, after that he owned him!

Well, above stats are for all 10 games since 2008, wins or losses. So they are dead even over the complete series. In the Nets six wins Pettit achieved 31ppg, 7rpg, 4apg on 49% shooting to TMac's 26ppg, 8rpg, 5apg on 47% shooting. But even looking at the (few) Kings wins I'm not declaring Tracy winner. I agree that TMac runs into better competition in the lane but you can't say that Hoffas arrival had any effect on Pettit ot TMac. Both still shot .495, only Pettit scored less - which might have more to do with the Dunleavy/Battier swap than anything. Last year, TMac was plain unstoppable and kept Pettit somewhat in check. But this year it's reversed again with Pettit (30ppg on 51%) all over TMac (21ppg on 39%) ... But lets close this discussion now. I'd take both over any SG I ever had ...

my 2 cents here ... i like your discussions here. it is always funny to read something else than player A is fantastic and scored.... we are already halfway through the season and the action is really down... no raptors no sonics trying to make the big trade to win it all no trade talk from the kings (even he anounced hoffa is gone ) even when i started one with offering marion and the reaction was almost zero. i know many including myself are very busy but keep the discussions at least interesting and entertaining.

Do I read something like "Marion for Tower" between the lines here? That might finally get me into Kings territory agewise. Right now my top12 add up to 371 years, with Marion it would be 380. And i'm closing in on the league leading Kings with their dinosaurs combining for a whopping 386 yrs of age (btw, you don't have to be a computer guy to see any correlation between the 386 PC generation and Ivans refusal to accept fictional guys - both horribly outdated nowadays ... ) On the other end of the scale are the Raptors (311yrs) and Warriors (313). Not league-leading young as there might be younger teams in the league, but it's not hard to be young, just to be young AND good ...

Pacers: There is still something major going on. I would call it a Mother Of All Blockbusters! ....You know who's the King Of The Trading Deadline! Celtics: Meh, i couldn't care less what you say. As i said, i don't find any joy or fun in it, so you can call me outdated, old fashionable or whatever. I don't care. Maybe nerdish factor prevails here. You're a stat guy, i'm not. You see bunch of numbers and you don't care about names and players. But that's not enough for me. I enjoy in my imagination, not in bunch of stats and numbers. Besides, that's why i have my backup (DJSL) team. To keep me ready for 10+ more seasons of madness!

We are roughly in season 2031 then and the son of Jeffrey Jordan will lead the league in scoring. Marions daughter Stacey will have scored 53pts in one of the last ever WNBA games. And Tower will be an assistant coach for the Las Vegas Hawks ...

In other news, Mcgrady was just sick, scoring 36ppg. 38 and 47pts against Lebron, 44 against the Rockets and 36 and 10asists against the Suns.
.
Sounds like an average sim for Dirk I could have had him you know...Sonics offered me (i think this is not against the rules cause it pretty much doesn't matter anymore) Dirk for Tracy straight up week before you grabbed him. I declined cause i want to win with Tmac. I offered you Dirk for Tmac trade in like season two. Yeah i remember. You had Hoffa - Damp frontcourt with Dirk at 3. All you needed was a superstar at 2 to be a dinasty. Trading Dirk was logical move. That was also one of the reasons i didn't want to give you Tmac cause you would have probably been unbeatable. Terry (or Harris, i don't remember) - Mcgrady - Luke Jackson - Rafael Araujo - Eric Dampier + you were the deepest team in the L at that time. Scary...
