I'd say great trade for the Sonics, getting that hawks pick.  But with this draft...eh.

Stan can certainly put some points on the board, but I'm not sure where he fits with the other "defenders" on the cavs.

I think the Wizards gain the most out of this deal, getting Chamberlain.  They've needed a pg FOREVER, and Chamberlain is just a wizard with the basketball and can give them 12-15 ppg as well.

interesting trade for all teams.

Sonics build for the future
Wiz got a great starter (with some defensive deficiencies) for a pick and some scrubs
And Cavs got Manning who i think is vastly overrated. Yep, he can score big on a bad team (sorry Sonics and Suns) but that's it. Defense is downright ugly. Strange move for a team averaging 103ppg and giving up 102, a lineup of Gomes - Keogan - Manning - Strait - Andresen would most likely be the worst defensive team in the league by far.

About Dion Glover and Manning being sent out together...

- Players acquired in a trade have a trade restriction where they can’t be traded until 60 days have passed, unless one of the following two conditions are true:

1) They (the acquired player being re-traded) are the only person being sent out by their team in the trade.

@ clips you are wrong there is another exeption.
if it is a three way trade you can trade the player with another.
but this trade can´t happen before day 51 since glover signed on day 183

@celtics i disagree
chamberlain is one of how many great pgs...
you can find them everywhere. manning is a young scoring stud who still can improve his def. i am pretty sure that this is by far the best offer you can get for a pg like chamberlain.

That might be true but nevertheless I see Manning a bad fit on a poor defensive team. Better than Hornick? Sure. But he'll be just another scorer with little D on a team of scorers with little D.

Why not go with a great defender to compliment improving youngsters Strait/Gomes and scoring stud Keogan (and cover his ass when he's beaten again) ?

I'm 99% sure i wouldn't have gotten Shogun for Manu alone. And i wouldn't want to add a future pick ...

Great move for the Wiz, I think this move might catapult them into one of the top teams in the Atlantic

I think the Wizards have to cut a player (not the one they are trading for...can't cut him if the deal won't process) for the deal to work.  They already have 15 players under contract.

It's funny....

With the pick, I thought the hawks were getting a steal.  and then I remembered the talent level of this draft Smile

Manning is a very nice offensive player, but he will not be getting better on defense.  He has not improved a lick since being drafted.  He is what he is.  That being said, he is capable of being an excellent 1st option, and those are herad to come by.
But so are point guards like Chamberlain.

Wizards improved the most in this trade, imo.
