Now what the hell happened to my rebounding? I used to be a rebouding powerhouse... And no. It has nothing to with matchups. I didn't won and probably won't win a ring cause i can't defend shit.

1-2 sim for the Hawks. Charles Phelps played brilliantly for me and Jeremy Palacio also played better than expeted. Mason Mercer is definitely not a SG, but he can still play PG so Phelps moves into the starting role. He's rebounded very well from the SG which is Palacios weakness. So I'm hoping that they can play well together. Troy Havlicek impressed again in his 2nd sim as a Hawk.

I guess we might as well take a game-game look...
Bucks 99 Raptors 96 -- Carmelo goes for 37, Max gets 16 and 8, Gasol, Garcia and Childress all get double figures....yet the Bucks shoot 45% to win by 3. Okur destroys "A" defender Swift. Cool.
Raptors 87 Lakers 77 -- Coming from a team that can't seem to defend a lick, it must have taken a helluv an effort to hold a team under 80 points. Melo had a terrible game, shooting 30% and turning the ball over 8 times...but he did have 17 and 11. Had 66 rebounds, with 4 guys in double figures. Schenk was 3-3 off the bench.
Pistons 120 Raptors 110 -- AS mentioned before, the Raptors shot 56% from the field, 60% from the land and had 34 assists. And lost. The difference maker was free throws, as the Pistons attempted 29 more free throws. Some strong games all around.
Suns 123 Raptors 106 -- Exuse me while I pick my jaw off the floor. I beat the Nets last sim. I lost to the Suns this sim. Collison destroys "A" defender Gasol. At least Max played well to get the player of the game.
Cavs 118 Raptors 96 -- Again, failure to play a lick of defense costs us the game. At this point I don't even feel like commenting on the game.
Raptors 120 Cavs 102 -- At least we didn't lose at home this sim.

It goes beyond me to understand how a team who's starters are A/A/A-/A-/A- defensivly are THIRD WORST in the league on defense. Hell, it's not like y backups are bad, they're all "B"s.
I guess I will try to press and trap only "sometimes" this sim.

if this is happening at the all-star break I'd be concerned. 11 games might be too early to panic.
But looking at Gasol, his blocks+steals are high, so his positional defense might not be great (probably just above average). Same thing with Chil.
Max looks like he might be a very good perim, just going by rating and other stats.

However, Swfit is also supposed to be an A defender, and he doesn't block many shots. He's confusing. I'm not going to do anythng rash, I'm committed to this team, and I have learned my lesson in the past. I am one of the worst teams at forcing turnovers, so the "press often" was a failed experiment.

1 steal/game is substantial for a pf/c. To put that in comparison Emeka (3 time defensive player of the year) is averaging 0.9/game. Dalembert (3 time all-defensive team) is at 0.6/game.
Swift seems like he should be a good post defender. of course, there aren't a whole lot of scorers at C, so you might want more of a team defender (steals and blocks) there.

Swift was a great man defender for me. However, I felt like his impact wasn't worth his paycheck, which is one of the reasons I moved him. I think as the season goes on you'll see he has the ability to shut some people down.

The reason that Ruffin was 1st team defense was not his blocks, 3.0 last eyar. there were a number of players ahead of him. It was his steals at 1.6 spg. Ben Wallace, when he wa an A+ defender, pulled down only 1.5 to 1.9 spg. 1 spg for a big man is significant.

As a little side note, I think this is the 1st time in a long while that a team (Hornets) is outblocking the Nets.

Decent rebound for the Nuggets this sim. Although the move to an Inside offense absolutely DESTROYED Butler's game, which will be rectified immediately. The Odom at Center experiment gets one more sim, with the offense moving back to Normal pace and focus. Morehead did a nice job starting at SF, but the team might be better off with Odom back there. We'll see shortly.
Thus far, it looks like the 2012 Midwest division will be SSBA's answer to the NBA's 2005-6 Atlantic division.

It's still too early to tell, I think Midwest is better than what the records shown.

A decent 5-4 sim by the Cavs. Timothy Adams is looking great, averaging 9, 8, and 1 on 50% shooting off the bench. Ray Allen is a great scorer in a backup role, and he's shooting terrific percentages as well. Looks like Chamberlain is trying to win his starting job back. His stats in 12.3 MPG off the bench are amazing. 4.2 APG(I doubt any other PG is averaging more assists per minute) and only 0.3 turnovers per game. Wow. This is a tough one...

Cavs, I'm very surprise that you're holding your opponents to only 100pg since non of your stater is a A- defender. Your only A- defender is Barbosa and he only plays 17minutes. I'm wondering what's going on here. In contrast, I have 8 A- or greater defenders but giving up 103ppg I just don't get it.
