A couple questions for clarification.  Better now than later.

1) For the forfeited draft pick, once they are cut does their 4 year salary count against your cap going forward?

2) If a team has multiple draft picks in a year which one is the forfeited one?  For example if I am over the cap for 2018 and in 2019 I own 3 first rounders (#4, #18 and #29) which one is the forfeited one?

Yes, it's just like any cut salary.

As for 2, I hadn't thought it that. But I think it should be the earliest one, the one that you least want to lose.  This should be something that people conscioiusly watch out for, not something that people can go "eh, oh well".

Especially since there aren't any escalations for repeat offenders.

Well, then I have one question.

If team a loses the 4th overall pick, it is selected and then cut.

Does that guy, who is good, that was picked #4 go into FA?

Or should we make that #4 pick the worst player in the draft .... allowing the person with #5 selection to take the better player?

Other than that...I am all for this new rule.

Sonics: another good suggestion.

Rather than doing a CPU pick, I'll select the player, and select a crapola player (you'll have to trust me that I can pick an undrafted player).  I.e. I'd pick someone out of the 100 draftees that had no shot of being pick.

Kings: it will be very late.

OT#2: Some unbelivable news here (although i've heard something about that before but i didn't belive), it seems that in Bosnia they have found the new, undiscovered Pyramid! It's all over the news!

Another question....

What if the team doesn't have a pick in the upcoming draft.  The rule says they lose the next available pick.  Does that pick become "frozen" so that they can not trade it?  IMO it should to minimize record keeping.

An example may help:
Spurs go over the cap in 2015.  They own the following draft picks - 2016 none, 2017 Spurs & Nets, 2018 Spurs.  Obviously the next available pick is one of the 2017 picks.  But there is no way of knowing which will be higher.  And if the pick isn't frozen then what stops me from trading both my 2017 picks for future picks.  In other words I could continue trading picks to delay the forfeiture penalty.

I know....sometimes I have just too much time on my hands.

If you have pick(s) after being penalized, you must keep one of them.  It will be locked in the sense that one of the two must remain.

If you go over the hard cap, the punishment should be having your testicles removed...

Glad I've been dating the same girl for 4 years, then. Mine aren't attached anymore, she keeps them in a drawer under her bed.

Great idea bods, but why 110,000, just arbitrarily assigned or what kind of thinking went into it?

I didn't want to put it too low, because of contracts signed before the rule took effect.

only the top of the top teams are above 110.  It wasn't meant to force people to make cuts, just to curtail free spending a *bit*

Nobody should have a hard time getting under $110 million.  You have just about 4 years to do so, and currently only the Hornets, Nets, Pacers, Mavericks are over that limit for this year, with nobody being over it for 2015.
- The Nets have 53.1 million in salary for 2015
- The Hornets have 14 million
- The Pacers have 89.6 million
- The Mavs have 31.8 million
...

Now come on, bods, gimme some credit. I currently stand at $108,201,642 and my free agency is far from over.
