I won't be here for the rest of the regular season. I will be snowboarding in the French Alps. I trust coach and players to do their job without me being in the office. But I should be back for first round of playoffs. Until then, keep my DC the same please.

Good luck to all in the playoff hunt!

And to everybody here... Happy Newyear! I wish you all the very best for 2006!

oh my goodness, people in Val d'Isere, Courchevel and Chamonix beware, here comes a basketball freak from the Belgian lowlands ...

I'm only happy that i can stay skiing in the Austrian Alps and won't have to take that risk getting hit by a boarder out of control. And i know what i'm talking about, the Dutch are all over out beautiful slopes in wintertime ...

I am back in town. Had a great time last week.

And Celtics, just for the record, first, I am from Belgium so I am not Dutch. Second, I have been snowboarding for 18 years now. I also used to live in France. I worked there as a snowboard-instructor. So I definitely know what I'm doing!!  Cool  Very Happy

I was never a fan of skiing or snowboarding. Every winter my friends are calling me to go with them to Austria, France, Italy or Bosnia. After that i only hear stories like " Man, we didn't ski at all, we were drinking all day long". Heck, i don't want to pay alots of money just to rollover drunk somewhere in the snow. I can do that in my own street.  Smile

Besides, being a 6'6 i wouldn't want to smash my knees skiing so i wouldn't be able to play ball anymore.

That means you need more responsible friends, not that snowboarding is no fun.

I don't know..it doesn't atracts me at all. I'm not much of a sports guy. The only sport i ever trained and was in love with is basketball (i did practice tennis a lil back in elementary school, but that was it). All the people i know are in alots of sports, soccer, tennis, basketball, snowboarding, volleyball, whatever. But as far as sport goes, my passion is only whithin basketball.

Since they only started opening ski lifts for snowboarders in '87, shortly after snowboards got popular in europe, you must be among the pioneers here in the old world.

Since i started skiing at the age of 3 (basketballing only at 11, tennis even nt before 15) - and did it ever since - i won't embarrass myself moving to boards now. Tried it once for a day in 1990 and that was it. Besides, for boarding you need special conditions to make it real fun, so for me nothing beats racing downhill on skiers, through snow in any consistency, off-slope, forests, steep or flat, you can always do something.

btw, it's just disgusting seeing beginners at the slope, more sitting than moving all day ...

Indeed, 1988 was my first year of snowboarding. I was the only one in the entire area. Can you imagine something like that? People looked all weird at me. Still had ski boots at that time on the board, a Crazy Banana!  Laughing
And you are so right about beginners sitting on the slopes. I don't like them too much either. But since I used to be a snowboard instructor... I needed beginners as well. Though many advanced boarders should still take classes but they don't think they need it.
Also, it's normal that there are beginners... you have to start one day. I was a beginner as well in '88.  Laughing

I don't want to. Cause i know the whole Austria can't stand the fact that Croat  dominates in your own national sport.  Smile  Wink
