8-1

Not bad at all.

Still not sure what to do about my SF position.

With Boykins going down Lord's going to get a chance to showcase a little this year.

The Celtics went 3-3 this sim and my (Raptors) pick went 1-3
Smile

Things are slowly, very slowly start turning for the better. Went 2-0 at home (including an ever so important matchup with the Raptors to even the season series) and 1-3 on the road (where I now have played 28 compared to 21 home dates). So if I can win the majority of my home games until Stromile gets back I have a realistic shot at the post season (and i play 14 of the next 20 - till Stro's return - at home)

If my draft pick is lottery will most likely be decided in the last sim where I travel to Canada twice but hopefully will have a complete lineup again.

* First, huge W, + 22 vs the Hornets (without Big Ben i have to admit). Too much of Hoffa (42pts, 13rebs) and Tmac (37pts and 9boards). Bibby with nice 11/11/7 for a easy W.

* +10 against the Magic: Hoffa 38 & 14, Tmac 37, Bibby 10 & 14 & 5, Forston 8pts and 11rebs and Turkoglu with great overall game as he chipped in 4pts, 2blocks and 11 boards. Great sub for Posey.

* +9 against the Bulls: Hoffa & Tmac combined for 55pts (Hoffa with all of his 31 in ONLY 23 minutes  Shocked  Smile ). Danny Forston with monstrous 21pts, 3blocks and 17rebs! This has to be 6th man of the league! Smile

* Payback time against the Mavs in Dallas. 121-115 W in the heart of the Texas. Tracy was pretty much unstopable with 47pts, 4steals, 7asists and 9 boards. Three headed monster worked prefectly as Hoffa went for 23/13 and Bibby with strong 21pts, 12asists and 8 boards performance. Giricek also had his best game so far off the bench with 13pts, 3/5 from the 3 in 24 minutes. Camby with 16 boards as well. +25 after the first 3 quarter.

* +21 vs the Rockets: Hoffa & Tmac with 77pts and 20 boards combined, end of story.

How this teams plays, without and major injuries, anything else then the Finals should be a great dissapointment. But we'll see, West, and specially Pacific is packed with great teams.

End of story? Back to your old trick ignoring all negative, like a home loss to the powerhouse Pistons where Steven Schmaltz had a lot of fun toying around with Hoffa?

But i'm not completely sold on the "packed" Pacific. You also have the three worst teams (loss-wise) in the whole league in your division so a high win% isn't that much of an accomplishment. Still it's very likely that the Finals team from the West will be decided in the Warriors/Kings/Clippers battle (with the Clippers being least dependend on staying injury-free).
One thing is clear, this 3-team contest (with the drak horse Grizzlies) will be fun to watch as the season moves on ...

Anyway, congratulations to staying relatively injury-free so far.

6-2 sim this time.  And Dirk is out with a strained neck, but only for another 3 days.  The rest will do him good.

Warriors were effective with Dirk at center, but Dirk just could not stay in the game.
Except for the 2 overtime games, he never was able to stay on the court for more then 30 mpg, and typically less.  Looks like playing him there in the future is not the best option in the world.

Was able to win both overtime games aagainst the Clips and the Jazz, so the sim was very close to being a 500 sim.

Back to Dirk at SF, that seems to be his best spot.

1-3 sim as the Celtics alluded to.

lost to the Celtics and Grizz on the road, beat by the Sammy-less Nets.

Poor show, but was missing my starting SG. He came back for my win against the Wolves.

Oh, I do not think you can discount Denver either.  With Berkowitz, Odom, and Butler, they are a team that is quite scary.  When Nugget's offense is on, it is unstoppable.

I give 5 teams in the West a really good shot at the Finals.  Clippers, Kings, Grizzlies, Nuggets, and the Warriors.

Looking at records, you would say there are probably 3 teams in the East ready for a Finals run (Nets, Pacers, and Hornets), but that is not the whole story.  The Heat with Duncan and the Raps with Yao, are both capable of making big runs in the playoffs as well.   The dominant players can make a huge difference in the playoffs.

Home court advantage will likely be key in the playoffs this year.

Well my next strech of games is MUCH easier, as 6 of my 8 games next sim coming against sub .500 teams, and the other 2 being Blazers and Heat. All winnable.

After that, 6 of my 8 the next sim, same deal.

...

Any team that loses 14 of 19 games over 3 sims kind of falls off the chart. And it's not like they were riddled by injuries, no, despite playing complete for some time now they still lose games left and right (like at home to Suns, Rockets and Sixers)

Like my Celtics last season the still look close due to the great start into the season but are hardly among the top teams anymore ...

They are one of the two teams in the West I would rather not face in the playoffs, primarily because they absolutely shredded my defense in one game. (I am ashamed to say the other team is the Kings.  The rebounding trio of Araujo, Fortson, and Camby make them almost impossible to outrebound. )

7-2 sim.....but can't say whether the young team is coming together or just a much easier schedule than the first half of the season.

Split 2 one-point games with the Wolves with each team winning on the road.  Split home & home with the Sixers.  Beat the Lakers twice, Magic, Wizards & Bucks...

FINALLY, first time i'm over 50 % in mid-season, more then happy, aim was to get close to play-offs, now it seems very
possible with last 3 sims performances.Moved to 6th position with some really nice wins. Telf earned his first player of the month award.

Telf was the man of first two wins over #7 Jazz (by 34) and and #2 Grizzlies at home.

Lost away to Clippers, Telf was doing great again, but no significant help from others.

Won away at Atlanta, Telf 36/9, Schultz 22/8, im amazed with this guys rebounding, 7.1rpg so far for 6'5 SG, very nice.

Trashed Celtics at home by 28....Schultz 29/8, Telf 19/10.I see how important is to have some depth, all season i have
6-7 guys putting more then 10ppg, with now and then someone going over 30, but its usually the big 4 who post 15-25
each game.

Lost to Warriors by 12...Telf 24/8, Schultz 18/5, kinda disappointed how Russell played this sim, altough being #1
option he rarelly took 10 shots, vs Warriors 100 % shooting, FG 5/5 3pt 1/1 FT 3/3, if i could find a way to get him
more balls, Telf is spending way too many balls as 3rd option. Russell and Schultz are best shooters, but i guess it's
'cause i play very fast pace.

Won at Mavs by 6....Telf 30/13, Schultz 27/6/9 3 steals, Haywood 21/15, Russell 18/5/6

Got my revenge vs #1 Warriors winning at home, Telf 30/12, Schultz added 19, Hay and Steven rebounding nice Smile

6-2 this sim, it was a toughest schedule so far so i'm delighted...i was hoping for a 4-4 before.

Why would you be ashamed for saying that?
