Can´t believe he will be even near the trophy.
MVP is normalyy decided between the best players of the best teams in regular season.

i expect the 76ers something between 6 and 10 in the eastern conference.
So even if he can keep this scoring pace i can´t see him winnig the trophy.
early favorites are Duncan,Billups maybe Wade and LeBron imo.

Sixers is top 3rd in the eastern conference standings. They lead the atlantic division. Isn't safe that sixers is one of the best teams in the league?

Its clearly that no one has stats closer than AI.

I think right now AI is the MVP, I don't think you could give it to anyone else, I hear a lot about Brand but I don't think he's shown me a whole lot yet.  AI has to be the MVP right now, still a long way to go though, he'll probably end up around 30/6.5/2.2 which is still enough to get him the MVP

AI could have been the MVP last year, if its not for the "overrated" steve nash. Who is averaging a 2:1 assist to turn-over ratio.

c'mon guys, not get too excited.

AI is exciting, the Sixers are clearly not.
I gladly take the beating from you Philly guys in here, but be honest. Thanks to a 4GM win streak (beating the powerhouses Hawks, Bobcats and Wolves at home and the Nets) you moved to 12-11. That's barely a playoff spot in the East ...

and only thanks to the crappy seeding system anyone from the Atlantic HAS to get into the playoffs, yes as the third seed no less - with possibly a worse record than the 8th seed (oh, now don't worry, the Sixers will do fine. Having the Nets, Knicks, Celtics and Raptors in the division almost guarantees that).

ok the sixers possible have a good chance for the 3rd seed as long the nets keep carter. No one believes that winning this division is worth a MVP trophy.  Scoring more points than anybody is not enough to win the trophy imo. If you have a top 5 record than it should be AIs but for scoring their is another title. MVP is for overall sucess including team record. And Nash deserved the award last year for turning this team around not for his passing skills alone.

He certanly has a great chance if we make it to the 2nd round. Remember, MVP trophy IS for regular season, but you can be sure 100% that writers, analists and who ever is voting, are surely counting the early playoff performances (1st & 2nd round) as well. If the Sixers make it to the 2nd round, he will get the MVP.

UPS, wrong assumption.

all votes have to be in roughly 5-10 days before the regular season ends. Stern just want's to keep suspense up for the early part of the playoffs, he could announce everything even before April 15th ...

You think Nash would have won MVP last year if the Suns haven't passed the first round? I don't think so...

That was no joke.

Repeat: ALL REGULAR SEASON AWARD VOTES HAVE TO BE SENT TO THE LEAGUE OFFICE BEFORE THE FINAL REGULAR SEASON GAME IS PLAYED !

Ok.. Lets say at the end of the season, that the standing is at it is.

Sixers top 3rd seed in the east. Not the best record in the league, but top 3rd seed.

Do you think AI will be MVP?

Btw, I think Nash is overrated. He has great assists because of his ultra talented teammates and the offensive system they run. The Suns success is mostly because of Amare Stoudamire.

Is it sixers fault that they are so lucky to have crappy teams in their division? The fact remains that sixers is top 3 seed in the east, and that makes them one of the best teams in the east.

And btw, Sixers is exciting. Very Happy They got a heck of a starting five. And it could have been better if Korver was more consistent with his shooting.

how is a top 3 seed making them on of the best teams?

if you have only the 8 best record and gained the top 3 seed through a weak division win, you are defently not a top team in the east. and yes it is the fault of the sixers that they are still only playing 500 ball.
