Celts, whats up with your team? You tired of winning?

Yeah, right. Just beat on the ones lying on the ground.
Wink

No, actually I'm just short announcing us winning again. Just give my guys a breather, keep in mind i'm currently riding a mile high injury wave ...
- starting PF Gasol out since game 3
- starting PG Billups out since game 10
- now starting SG Ginobili out another sim
- backup C Duncan out for 6 games
... so us still winning anything is a little surprise. (btw, i won as many road games already as anyone but the Pacers, Bucks and Nets in the East)

This last 3-7 sim was played with my two rookies Reed and Perry playing at PG. And they did ok, Reed in his first start got me 20/9 with no TOs, a steal and a win (and a triple double to Boblinger, but who cares *lol*). He already gave me a 15ass game, defends, and doesn't turn the ball over, until Chauncey comes back.
Also in his first start, Ivan Strong got me a solid 13/9 this sim and played very solid defense too. Now Stromile will take over there but Ivan is ready for a bigger role ...

yo, i'm not too happy about my record, especially losing to the Cavs twice (would have put me at 5-5 otherwise, i know i'm better than that !) but the season is long and after next sim i will have played just 8 of my 26 games at home, so its way too early to worry ...

First, it will be an extraordinary pleasure to beat you next sim even without my complete starting backcourt of Billups and Ginobili ...

And second, remember two seasons ago when the Sixers didn't have the guts to deal my pick. I told them for weeks to get rid of it, when it was #1, later #3, later #9 and finally ended up #21. Hope you learned a lesson here ...

i agree the celtics are one of the worst teams to start in a season but keep finishing strong. Maybe it is because their gm is always a little laid back in the offseason after one successful season and forgot that you have to work even harder to prove that you are for real  Rolling Eyes

oh man, such quotes will cost you dearly ...  Twisted Evil

I believe i'm one of the harder working people here constantly looking for improvement. But i'm a bit trigger-shy and it has cost me. Now if only I had the luxury of starting with a team of Ron, Tinsley and JO ..

Well, a little more analysis shows some good defensive basketball.

Jim Finley - 6.8 ppg, 10.8 rpg, 2.3 bpg in 31 mpg.  Opponents shot 38% against him. (Exactly what I need from Finley, rebounding and defense. And the combination of Finley and Rubini was able to hold Yao to 8 of 23 shooting)

Don Ruffin - 11.6 ppg, 12.6 rpg, 4.4 bpg, 2.5 spg, in 37 mpg,  held opponents to 35% shooting.  Mr. Ruffin, sorry I never started you before.  Absolutely incredible on defense.  If he stays anywhere near these numbers, Emeka might actually have a challenger for DPOY

Dirk Nowitzki - 30 ppg, 7 rpg, 3.9 apg, 1.8 spg and 44% shooting, held opponents to 44% shooting.  Dirk, no matter where you play, you are the man.  Excellent play at the SF spot, although his percentages could be a bit higher.

Luol Deng - 17 ppg, 6 rpg, 3.5 apg, 1.9 spg, 1 bpg in 34 mpg, held opponents to 40% shooting.  What a great surprise.  Excellent play from Deng at the SG position.  Hs ability to defend SG's is a huge bonus for the Warriors.

Kirk Hinrich - 22.1 ppg, 8.9 apg, 6.3 rpg, 1.8 spg, 46% and 54% shooting, held opponents to 36% shooting.  The leader of the team for years, now enjoying being 2nd offensive fiddle to Nowitzki.  Scoring is up, and assists are slightly down as a 2nd option this year.  Has to be a top 3 point guard in the league right now.

And Phillip Rubini, Granville Arande, Dean Springs, Daniel Holt, and Posey played well off the bench, giving the Warriors 17 ppg, 16 rpg, 5 apg and 3 spg from the bench.

....

Nice analysis, but pretty useless. One word is enough:
DIRK

take your whole team as it is and replace Dirk with, let's say, Q (sorry Jerold) and what you get? A playoff team maybe, unless Kirk gets injured, then you get the current Celtics ...

COuld have dealt it if not for the project that kept me busy with HeatGM which landed us the 4th place in our whole university. Very Happy

But yeah, could have traded the pick but no one gave me a good offer.

Believe me, ANY offer would have been better than what you get past #20. (and while it's easy to lament after the event) even dropping the pick would be better than paying Edward "Ed" Norwood three more years !

if i remember right i started also with jackson and this team really sucked. i think the record of the previous gm was somehting like 20-62.
After i took this team i never missed the POs. And it is not like you started without an Allstar or lotto picks  Wink

Well thanks.  Smile
Only takes about 10 minutes to put it together.  I was pretty surprised at my team's play this sim, so I wanted to find out what seemed to be so effective.

Celtics...
Dirk and Kirk, you are right.   Cool  My team has always collapsed whenever Hinrich was injured, and I am sure the same is true this year for Dirk.

last sim was a little confusing...

marion kept his good performance from last sim and had an avg. of 30/10
but JO only avg. less than 30 mins and against warroirs sit down after 25 mins without foultroubles   Shocked  Question
My team is still leading the league in scoring but now i will see if this team can also play some defense.
The guard play is solid. Low TOs and hig % shots but the ass could be a little better.
The C play is very inconsistent.
first Foster had a 18/20 game against the clippers and after that both magloire and foster had troubles to stay on the floor.

next sim i will face the nets for the first time this year and also the mighty celtics  Rolling Eyes

Plenty of optimmism in California these days. Went 5-4 without Hoffa for most of the games including 2 great wins over the champs and surging Nuggets.

Highlights;

vs the Hawks: Tmac with 35pts/11boards, Hoffa 27/18 and Bosh contributed nicely with 13pts, 11 boards (bastard is playin like he knows he's going to be traded...you just have to warn the guy to start playin for real or he's out!  Smile )

vs the Blazers: dismantled them 90 - 66 as Hoffa 34/16, Tmac 26/6/9, Bosh 18/2/8, Bibby 6/16/5 and Camby with 15 boards. Held them to 30% shooting.

vs the Nets: win of the season as the Kings crushed the champs by 21 and held them to only 77 points on 36% shooting. Tmac gave young Pettit a lesson just to let him know he still has long way to go Smile .  39pts/7 boards holding Pettit at 23. Bosh had a great all round game with 6pts, 2 blocks, 4 steals, 7 asists and 13 boards. Great win. Without Hoffa as well!

vs Heat. Another W on the road. Tmac with 32/6/5, Hoffa 18/13, Bibby 22/9, Bosh 8/10.

Then without Hoffa for 3 straight games i lost all 3 of them! Confused That's unaccetable!

Last day of the sim huge win over red hot Nuggets. Danny Forston (god i love this man!) with monstrous 21/22 game, Tmac with 30, Bibby 15/5/7, Camby 13/13/5/3.

Good sim, defense is actually looking very good. Allowing only 91pts per game and outrebounding most of the teams. Once Hoffa gets back i ecxpect some serious winning rows.
