there's a slight difference between "darn good" and "difference-maker". And Dirk is one of the few from the latter category ...

I think Dirk needs a All Star C (or something near it) to be that succesfull. I doubt Finley is that.

He needs a good rebounder, and a player that can defend at center for support.  Rebounding at center is probably the most important, to cover Nowitzki's one weakness.

Shaq, last year, was a slightly better rebounder and shotblocker then Finley.  But With a decent TC, Finley can hopefully equal Shaq in those two ablities.

Thing that is great about Finley...  He is a bad offensive player, but he plays like he knows it.  He takes less then 5 shots per game.  Which mean more for Dirk
