i just wanted to clear him off the books, between Dench, Carter and Rodya I think I can more than make up for losing him.  Nelson is a decent player but turned the ball over way too much for my liking.  And if by some fluke I make the playoffs, I'll put Antonio Daniels in and win the whole thing Laughing

Daniels went down again in TC and i see mckinnee as having a very similar role...we'll see how is a/to works out. with beardslee, and meyers i could chance losing piatkowski although i was interested in finding him a role this year. So basically i get jameer nelson for free which frees up shabinger and nelson himself for trades and nelson is a valuable trading asset as it is and could help me get a bigger salary player if i decide to do something big. Also, indirectly, i get antonio mcdyess as if ound the hawks cut him and i went ahead and signed him with my free roster space...now he moves ahead of Murphy in my lineup, and once again is also a valuable trading asset at a minimum salary.

You cannot sign Antonio McDyess for 24 hours, since he was cut from a team that you traded with.

Honestly, Hawks got ripped off in this trade.

Basically, expirings for Nelson??? Bad trade for the Hawks, imo.

I wrote this message on the Cut/Signings board, so I'm repeating it here for easier access (since most don't read those individual posts):

Quote
I hate to be a jackass, but

Quote

If a player is cut as a result of a trade, no team involved in the trade (either team who traded the cut player, team who received the player, or any other parties involved in the trade who never controlled the player) can sign that player for a period of 24 hours after the trade has occurred.

Once I saw the post in the Trades forum, I came on here to claim McDyess and drop Raymond Bee.

Again, I'm not trying to be a pain, but I think Nets put that rule in for a reason (i.e. a similar situation like this one in the past occurred).

Yes, that signing won't be allowed.

I don't think I got ripped off, with the number of good PG's in this league Jameer isn't of value.  Sure he can score but he doesn't make his teammates better and he turns the ball over way too much.  He can score inside and rebound good for a PG but besides that he's just average with a bigger contract which I am not willing to pay for him to sit on the bench.

I understand Jameer's limitations, i couuldn't pass up two low-minute expiring guyus for him though...i'll gladly take the extra scoring off the bench...TO's like above are still an issue though.
