I agree.

Move done solely to get Collier's contract off the books, as the addition of Berkowitz effectively cut his PT.

And with the first two picks of the second round, I don't really lose anything by dealing the pick.

I do this deal because of my woes in FA.  I didn't want to have all that cap and not get anything for it.  Collier is a center who averaged 16 and 7.  He's a good solid player to have around my young core, the Sonics 1st is an added bonus but will probably end up being a player who may or may not be good depending on potential.  Collier is better than getting nothing out of FA.

From my end, this deal of course hinges on what I can do with my cap room.  I have my eye on a couple of guys, so hopefully things work out.

Nets, Collier's been on the block for a long time.  He got some interest from a few teams, but not too many.  Hawks should definitely benefit because the big man FA crop is pretty lean.

Knowing he's on the block and knowing he's going for a 2nd round pick are different things Smile

But I'm not under the cap anyhow.

Thanks for not making the Nets even better than they already are.

And no, bods, I don't wanna hear anything about that poor losing team from the finals. This was a one-time collapse of a team truly dominating this league (some say even terrorizing the rest with losses *lol*) ...

i think this is a step in the direction that I need to go to get over that 20 wins in a season barrier,  it's a tough wall to climb in Atlanta Wink

Collier would be a nice big man addition should your target not make it to free agency.

He can be had for close to nothing, even just a 2011 2nd rounder. That's good production from the center spot and an expiring contract for very little in return.
