Well, the reason I did this trade is because it gives me the best front court ever. And it FINALLY atones for my gaff of trading Hoffa before the first season, I can now rest peacefully again.

I traded both my picks, so I'm looking at about 12 mil in cap space, more than the max amount. And pending the resiging of Nash and Diddle, I really only need a SF/SG.

For now my lineup will be:

Yao
Hoffa
Diddle
Lovelette
Nash

Possibly good enough to sneak into the playoffs, but probably not realistic.

I also really didn't want to give up Springs, but getting Longely back is nice, he has a nice set of skills, and good size.

Hey the Hoffa trade wasn't bad, Pavel is not bad of a player.

Have I officially lost my kind???  The answer, is YES!!!

Many will think this is a knee jerk reaction to a bad season.

What this is, is the realization the the Clips are almost unbeatable in the next 2-3 years.  So I decided to get ready for when the Clips do become beatable.

Araujo proved this year that he cannot carry a team.  He will improve greatly with the Raptors, I am sure, and return to his close to his old form.

But Deng is 22, and an excellent player who will likely improve.  Springs is 21 years old, and will be a fine replacement for Kobe, when Kobe gets up there in age.  And Finley is only 19 years old, and still has plenty of rrom for improvement.

It can't be a knee jerk reaction if it tkaes weeks to conceive Smile

And the good part of me getting Hoffa is that I don't have to cunt on him to be a team-carrier, I already have a proven one./

You don't have to cunt on him, eh? Freudian slip of the tongue - you must really like getting Hoffa back Wink

Wow, I'm really at a loss for words here.

It's not like the Warriors didn't get good return. Finley is a good project with "major upside potential", Deng might not be the next Marion but isn't that far away either, and Springs is, well, probably a step down from Longley but with some potential too.

No, its the unique player they gave up here: Those don't come very often and you simply don't give up those unless an equal talent like Yao or so comes knocking. You simply don't ...  Confused

And finally, the puzzeling statement: "Araujo proved this year that he cannot carry a team (in the absence of Kirk)"
Well, nobody, not even the best solo artist, can lead an orchestra when the conductor is absent. It's simply not his job. Hoffa proved time after time on the Mavs he CAN lead this team with the right support group around him.

Araujo had the support of Stromile Swift, Paul Pierce, and Andre Iguodala.  That is a not too shabby group, if you ask me.  And, without Hinrich, Araujo, the undisputed leader of the team, led the Warriors straight into the lottery.

With the Mavs, Araujo was surrounded by Dirk, Eric Dampier, and the combo of Jason Terry and Devin Harris.  Dirk carried that team. Not Hoffa.

But, time will tell.  Both the Raps and I had great sims.  The true question is if that success can be maintained.

Hoffa may have found his niche playing 2nd fiddle to Yao.

28, 13 in the first sim is nothing to shake a stick at.

Was par for the course last year...
If you lose Nash, though, Hoffa is in deep trouble.

If I lose Nash, I'll replace him with a younger PG with potential to be better.
