Umm, huh? I think everyone is missing something. Ratliff is an expiring! So Portland trades Fox, a young star in the making, to save 3 mil, which is his own contract. So basically, he traded away Fox just to get rid of the contract...WTF?

But yeah, if all he was looking for were expirings for Fox and Eisley, i'm sure he could have gotten a better pick for it had he put it up on the trade block. |

It's not that bad of a trade... He got $6+ million in cap room and a future pick -for- 3 players he didn't want...

You all forgot one more thing,Webb, it's 3.75 Eisley contract,3 mil Fox and Webber's 4 mil more then Ratliff expiring,i got from this deal 10.75 million cap space more no, the difference in the expiring's is irrelevant, because they will be off your cap anyway by the time the draft and free agency gets here. You gained 6 million, not 10.75. |

Just because you add MORE contract doesn't mean you get that taken off. If a team has 100 million dollar pay roll, all expiring, then don't enter FA with -60 million in cap space. |
