Bucks, I should have got Donta Smith, 6,000,000 over 5 years with an increase of 5%.  But your team is looking good, Ferry and Okur should be a good combo on the inside w/Kobe and Nash on the permiter.

Yeah, if you want proof that Loyalty, Greed and Play for Winner mean something, that's your example.  Hawks offered a higher starting salary with raises for a longterm deal, which satisfied his lowest attribute (Greed, 20).  But Bucks had loyalty (92) and Play for Winner (89).

Yea, nobody can say that those ratings don't mean anything anymore.  It's obvious that they do with my day 1 offers to lose rate.  Just ask the Warriors, I showed him my list and a lot of  good players turned down my money for loyalty or greed.

Now with all of the good fa's off the market I can declare this has been a bad offseason for me. I do like my draft picks but I think the only way I will win now is by some good trades.

I have now played a total of 6 SSBA seasons.  I won 50 games in I believe 5 of those 6 seasons.  Still ringless.   That was my first finals appearance right there.

I've played 7.

Was the TOP seed (and most wins in the League) 2 times. Was also second once to Twan's cheating team.

I had what I felt was the best team the year that Twan cheated.

The last 2 years of this SSBA I've felt I had the best team.

Finals apperances: Zero.

Damn, I just realized that Diddle improves his ratings when move to SF. That might throw a little wrench in the plans, but gives me another good trade commodity.

I know that Deng falls to B+ defense at SG, so I really want to start him at SF...

The CavsGM and I debated what Donta would do for about a week heading into Free Agency.

The past two years Donta Smith was one of the first to sign on Day 1 to my offer.  And since I knew the two teams likely to give Smith a big payday were you and the Cavs, I figured the 89 play for winner benefited me.  I knew the 92 loyalty had been a factor in previous offseasons given the speed in which Smith signed on.

I told the CavsGM that I fully expected Smith to resign even if I offered him a long term deal starting at 2.4 million (the amount I was under the cap).  CavsGM told me I was nuts.  I ended up offering 1 year/5.4 instead and he took that over your offer and the Cavs offer (which was higher than your's).

wow, that's surprising, that 2.4 million deal wouldn't have got him I don't think.  But that 5.4 million deal is good, and it adds another bird year too.

Why won't Cavs do that?  If I were CavsGM I wouldn't said a word since we both are going after the same player.

The Cavs and I were discussing a trade that would have shaved 400k off my available cap space.  I told him I wouldn't do it until after I resigned Smith.  Of course, Cavs said the 2.4 million wouldn't come into play regarding Smith anyway.

I told him I was considering offering Smith just 2.4 million.  Cavs said he was worth at least 6, which I couldn't match.  So I knew that at least Cavs/Hawks would offer him more than I could.  So I had to count on loyalty and play for winner.  Since greed was so low, I considered risking offering him 3 million less per year but decided not to tempt fate.

The most I could offer was starting at 5.4.  Cavs and Hawks could offer more, which they did.  So discussing it didn't really matter.

Besides, saying you're going to offer 2.4 might make cavs/hawks think that they could get him less than 6 per year.

I was blown away by some players decision... Particularly Benoit.  Thought for sure the Cavs had him, and Mikel Chamberlain as well...

Cavs never made an offer for Benoit.

And the Hawks changed their bid at the last second for Benoit to a less than mle starting salary.

I should have had Donta. Offered 7 mil to start, and 10% increases, for 4 years. Bucks just stole him away...And I really thought I had Jameer. Offered my cap space(8.7 mil), 4 years, but no increases. But your offer was better. Wish I had offered a little more to Donta, that might have done the trick...
