Nice to see the Hawks finally sign a free agent...  And they signed a pretty good one, imo.

it's very nice to finally get someone.  The Nets outbid me for Battier but it probably wouldn't have mattered anyway.  I also got Jameer at a lower price that I first had thought I could because a lot of the big money was gone after day 1 so I figured that I could go a little cheaper.

Well, my first day offers for Billups and Battier were 8 mil/year and 6 mil/year respectively.  I ended up bumping them each up 2 mil/year to make sure I got them.  Wish I didn't, but I just wanted to get them locked up.  Especially with the Hawks having a ton of cap room, I was worried he'd steal Battier away from me and making a much higher offer.  As it stood, I think the Hawks offer was for about 5 million more total, but Battier chose to re-sign.

I also got my typical "expiring contracts at ridiculous prices to be used as trade fodder".  Except this year, with me being completely over the cap for years to come, I might actually use them.  Aaron Williams at 11 million, MacLean at 5.4 million, Jackson at 6.4 million.  All 3 of them might be on the injured reserve, lol.

Only one guy left to sign.

Your contract actually came out to a little higher than mine, with your raises and mine being a flat contract.  You had me worried.  My original offer ws 6 mil/year, I bumped it up to 8 after he didn't decide day 1, but I was really worried what you would offer him.

Nice signing with Jameer.

yea, after day 1 went south I felt I needed to get Jameer and Shane to be able to be better than my team was last season.  I got Jameer (great pick-up, good scorer and defender) and lost out of Shane who is an excellent defender.  Nets are looking scary with that team.  If you keep Shane and Chauncey both you will be cap tied but you will be real good.

BTW, since this was run so late, I will extend the amount of time to make sign and trades to only 24 hours (in the rule book it says the deadline is either 24 hours or when the next sim is run, whichever comes first)

But now the Nets have one of the best guard rotations...  Very similar to the Nuggets old rotation, back when they had both Chauncey and Boykins.

The Juan Ward signing is a bit unusual.

Not really too much left, at this point.

the best thing that comes out this off-season for the Hawks is Jameer obviously, but if JDN doesn't want too big of a contract I'll have some money to spend on next year's FA class.

Well, it is pretty much the Nuggets old rotation Wink

And I hope to add Leandro, who was amazing off the bench last year.  Very good scorer and defender.
