at the moment i think you will need 43 wins in the east for the 8 and final place. I really hope that the hornets will take this place since i would like to see a ming - shaq matchup in the first round  Laughing

in the west there should be something like 38 wins enough. I believe that the rockets will take this place with their new additions.

overall first round matchup predicitons:
east:
raptors vs. hornets
possible the best matchup in the first round with marion against peja and shaq against ming
nets vs. orlando
pettit against allen could be fun to watch but the inside dominance of the nets make them the favs.
wizards vs. pacers
two of the best pfs will meet in the first round, should be a close race
sixers vs. heat
can the heat stop tim duncan, if not this will be a very short round

west:
mavs vs. houston
even with bibby now in houston this is something the mavs should win, but you never know with the mavs as seen last year
clips vs. kings
t-mac will have a great series but the overall talent of the clips will be too much for the kings
denver vs. grizz
can big ben do his magic again?
if not the nuggets should win this without any problem.
jazz vs minny
can KG win a first round? It will be a very close series imo but KG will have to wait another year.

i know this is a little early ...

Is tough to stop Duncan, but the best game plan is certainly to let him go off, and stop the rest of the Sixers. Which is why you have the best player in the League and are still 12.5 games back Smile

THe Hornets are the one team that I don't want to face. I'm really hoping the catch the Magic. Although the Hornets and I match up well with:

Shaq vs. Yao
James vs. Mihm
Marion vs. Peja
Chrisite vs. Wallace
Livingston vs. B Diddy

Man, the east is stacked.  I have no idea who I want to face.

Even the lower seeded teams, they may not be complete teams, but they have players who can simply take over a series and make it scary.  And they have good enough defenders at frontcourt positions to give emeka troubles offensively.

I probably want to face the heat the most.  Hornets the least.  76ers or Magic?  Don't know.  I think on paper I match up with the Magic the best, but they've given me a world of troubles.

I'm not too concerned about who I play, If I'm going to win it, I'm going to have to win some tough series no matter how I go about it. From how I've structured my team, I still think I'm another year or two away from having a legitimate shot at winning it all. As Kirilenko works his way up into a top-10 superstar and as my youth matures, the Jazz can do some heavy damage if they ride the right wind.
