It hurts to lose all of the great young talent, especially Kaman, but Barry is definitely worth it. He is getting up there in age, but still is very, very talented and is just what I needed to fill the hole at SG. Excellent scoring efficiency, good size and handles, great defense. The season is by no means over. There are still some solid young guys on my roster, and upcoming picks, so there is a future as well.

The youth movement goes on for the Celtics as another three talents have found their way to New England.

Van Exel will lower the burden of the tragedy surrounding the possible career end of PG Bailey Snow. And open an opportunity for a further trade of Eisley as well to complete stage one of the "Celtics Rebirth".

And talents like Kamen and Ratliff get an opportunity here to play their way onto the roster for next season.

I'm really happy about this trade and wish Brent, who has done everything for the Celtics and beyond, and the Cavs all the best for the playoff run.

Interesting.

Obviously, Hoiberg and Berry had no room on the Celtics long-term.  So the question becomes if he got value for them.

Talentwise, I'd say yes.  Right now Kaman is a borderline starter, although he's 1 tc from becoming a definitive starter.  Definitely has value.

and I like Van Exel.  Probablem is, I don't think he's better than Bailey Snow, and Van Exel's ratings take a huge hit when moved to sg.

Snow will be gone for a long time. A broken skull is nothing to take lightly and team doctors are adviced to take him through all kind of testing batteries and examinations to make absolutely and undeniably sure that he is ok and no further health issues may arise from that skull condition.

I see a deep friendship between the real Eddy Curry and Bailey looming and lots of stud poker in the hospital cafeteria ...

DID I HURT HIM ? No as far as I know nor did I play him exessively to warrant such an injury (which might stem from an illegal motorcycle tour accident, I have to check on that one ...)

So i got me a good replacement NOT to continue losing !

Hm...I think you missed my point.

AFAIK, injuries don't linger, especially into future years.  So next year, Bailey Snow WILL be availbable to play.  It's not career threatening.

So what I said holds true, after these 49 days are up.

So unless you're in dire needs of these wins these next 49 days (and let's be honest, you're not making the playoffs), the fact that he can step in and take over his duties IMO isn't that big of a deal.

i was interested in all of the players myself. berry's age prevented me to make a trade, i was worried he might retired after this season or the next one. same case with hoiberg. i also like kaman but haven't made any offer for him. overall, the cavs got some very needeed help to make any serious playoff push (or noise) this year while boston continue  with their youth project so the trades make sense for both of them, but i don't see any major improvements for either teams...

I can imagine that these injury reasons are just a product of a sarcastic programmers mind and there's some *hidden* fun in my comments Wink Wink

but generally, a "skull fracture"  Shocked  for my player would start getting me a tad nervous if I were a REAL GM for sure !
