... Press Relesease ... STOP ... Press Release ... STOP ... Press Release ...

The Agent representing both the Boston Celtics SG Brent Barry and the Celtics PG Howard Eisley have informed team management that he will actively pursuit new surroundings for his clients within the next few days. The phrase "helping in a winning environment" made it clear, that both players are through with the rebuiling and accompanying losing that's part of Boston basketball nowadays.

Brent Barry, an Oregon State Alumni, had a great career in Golden State and with the Bulls before reaching new heights guiding a young Celtics team to the first part of the season. From almost 20ppg, 5apg, 5rpg on .515 shooting to a 43 point game he reached career highs in almost every statistical category (ass, stl, blk, ft%, fg%, 3p%). he was made centerpiece of the new Boston team early this season in a trade for Paul Pierce who's selfish attitude didn't fit with management plans.
Brent Barry is an extraordinary defender as well (holding guys like Redd to 4-17 and McGrady to 10-24 shooting) which is a quality the Celtics will deeply miss if he really leaves.

The other client, Howard Eisley from local Boston College just seemed to find a new home at Fleet Center and quickly became fan favourite with his surprising play. After a career as a backup with the Suns and Wolves he came to town with little expectations, but surprised everyone. Shooting above 50% for most of his career he became a scorer as well averaging 19ppg, 4rpg and 6apg (with games of 27,25,25 and 20 points) in a leading role lately. Before this explosion he averaged a surprising 13ppg and 3apg on .528 shooting in a backup role behind PG Snow.
Eisley is know for quick hands (1.4 stl as starter or backup) and relentless attacking mode setting up teammates for easy baskets.

Celtics Management could not be reached for comment so far and questions issued through AP have not been returned as of now.

In a homestory last week for a local TV station, the new Celtics manager was explaining the mid- and longterm plans of the Celtics by laying great focus on youth movement: "We do not want to start from the beginning again. I feel we have a great base for this team and some valuable veterans who provide great leadership to the rookies and second year guys. We hope to strengthen that base even further in the future and may make another move or two to get young but proven players to town for speeding up that process.
I wan't the fans to understand, that there is hope in sight and winning closer than they might believe now. All our playing strategies incorpporated by the coaches happen in accordance to our management plans and I have the vision of being able to put a young and competitive team on the hardwood in the latter part of the season which will lead us to the playoffs as early as next seson." (interview done by Eva Longoria)

This insight information may have led to a misunderstanding among the established veterans that management does not plan with them as early as the second half of the season. An unidentified source close to the GM told AP that this is far from the actual plans and that management appreciates everything the veterans provide for this group. "These senior members of our team (referring to Barry, Eisley & Hoiberg) have earned the right to decide themselves if the want to try to win a title at this stage of their careers. We love to have them on this team for all the leadership AND winning attitude they bring but also will not block them if they can bring a deal for a good young player which will help our team in the short AND the long term. We told their agent that we are not interested in future projects anymore as the process has reached the second stage now" said the unidentified source.

Updated news ... STOP ... Updated news ...

In a first statement upon being reached by AP , Celtics GM told reporters through a phone call: "That Barry guy will stay right where he is for this season and the next. Im not crazy giving away a 20 point scorer unless I get 2 young AND good guys back - probably one and a higher pick, but as long as nobody get's to ME with an absolutely CRAZY offer, I plan on Barry to fulfilling his 2 year contract right here with my team. And I absolutely HATE agents going to the public before even speaking with management ..."

This just in:

In a response issued through his agent, SG Brent Barry of the Boston Celtics responded to the managements statement: "I strongly believe I have given my everything and beyond for this team and I still will. We are a close and supportive group of teammates that are as fun to play with as it gets. Still at this point of my career with me playing on an all-time high level I think management should support me in the quest for a championship especially since a possible trade would bring first class talent back to this team. This is the last 2 or 3 years I can play on that level and I deeply feel that I can be the missing part to bring one or more SSBA titles to a more experienced team.
But I'm prepared to continue my career here as well and bring the playoffs back to the Fleet Center if all other opportunities do not work out ..."

Shortly after this verbal slap, team management announced to keep out Barry and Eisley for tonights games as a precautionary measure ...

More news to follow shortly ...

man that's a lot of writing.

You'd make a good contributor for the articles forum.  With these posts however I can't figure out if you're actually willing to trade those two guys and I'm even less sure what you expect back from them Very Happy

Yes, good creativity, but low on conciseness, high on ambiguoity.  I know for one I didn't read any of those posts entirely.

Yeah man, I hate it too when the press blows up simple things like that. As far as I got through these monster articles I guess there is a chance for a trade if the right offer comes along ...

... but the question is, who do you believe in this? Personally I think management always has a hidden agenda while players are more honest. Still, you can't argue with the AP about player profiles ...

AP Newsflash ... STOP ... AP Newsflash ... STOP ... AP Newsflash ...

In a move possibly related to the published trade demands for Howard Eisley and Brent Barry, the latter today was shipped out of town to the Cleveland Cavs in a still surprising deal for three young and promising players but now the young star many had thought Barry would be exchanged for. Following Barry is Fred Hoiberg, a veteran who has been all quiet throughout the turmoil.

Neither the GM nor the players could be reached for comments so far. We'll keep you updated on this hot topic as well as the still undecided status of the last veteran EISLEY ...
