Players given extensions are not subject to the 60 day trade rule.  They can be traded upon the completion of the playoffs.

So, I have never seen an offseason, or training camp, so I have some very basic questions, mostly on potential...

Obviously, a player with A potential is likely to improve.
The younger a player is, does that make him more likely to improve?

A player with B potential still has plenty of room to improve, but not as drastically as a player with A potential.  Is that correct?

A player with C potential can improve (if they are young), but will likely improve in only one stat category, if it all.  Is that true?

And players with D and and F potential are likely to get worse.

Does how a player plays during the season have any affect on how they improve in training camp?

And I understand that the potentials that we see are perceived potentials, and not the actual potentials...

At what point is it determined which teams have the MLE & LLE? Before or after resigning your own free agents? In the real NBA free agents hold a cap cost until you resign them or renounce them.

For example if I have $10 mil in cap space but resign 2 of my own free agents for that $10 mil; do I get the MLE & LLE?

You always have the MLE and LLE, unless you're over the cap.

For example, last year I had 12 million in cap space.  I signed Okafor and Barbosa.  I was then able to use the MLE and LLE, although I chose not to do so.

The Hawks last year used their cap space on Stromile Swift.  They then signed Rickey Paulding to the MLE.

So if you use up your cap space now, you will have the MLE and LLE.

Also, anyone not under contract on your team doesn't count against your cap  when free agency begins, even if you retain their bird rights.  It's a slight departure from the normal nba.  In the nba, unless you relinquish a guys bird rights, a salary (determined as an increase from his last years salary) still counts against your cap.  Not so in this sim.

As for potential, Golden State.  It's really hard to predict.  Obviously, an A has more chance to improve than a B.  A "B" has more chance to improve than an A.  And a C I wouldn't expect any improvement.  Improvement from a C is possible, but it's not something I would count on.

Some players with A potential never improve.  Ever.  Some players with C potnetial get better every year.  There is no exact science.

One thing, how much you play a person during the regular season has no influence on if they improve in training camp or not.  It's one of the less fleshed out areas of this simulation.

Heres a question,

the non playoff teams, is draft order determined by finish of team record wise, or by the order of finish during the playoffs.

ex: the Rockets are the #1 team in the west, if they are upset(however unlikely ) by the Trailblazers, do they still go to the bottom of the first round, or do they go in to the mix for the picks in range 14-22?

Does 'over the cap' here also include having less than 4.5 million in capspace (like in the FA signing)?

And yes, if you have less than 4.5 million in cap space you can use your MLE>
