I finially get the Big player i've been looking for. Martin averaged 20 and 10 last season, and i'm sure he can do the same here. Adding Mopete and Glover give me depth, while i give up Mihm, and Hunter Who i liked alot, but they had to be moved to make this deal happen.

I dident like breaking up the Vince/Kobe combo, but i got a 20 and 10 player to match up with all of the bigs i'll be facing out west(Gasol,Brand,KG,Dirk ect.)

Ray and Vince together will be a scary combo for the Nuggs.

but i think that Kobe and Kmart together is good also,with Hav who is a young player, and i added depth in my frontline, i think i can be a little better than last season

I went from a starting lineup of

C - Camby
PF - Kenyon
SF - MoPete
SG - Allen
PG - Billups

to a starting lineup of

C - Cato
PF - Camby
SF - Carter
SG - Allen
PG - Boykins

I think that's an improvement, at least it is IMO.  [edit: plus, having all my starters' last names start with either A, B, or C should be a boon to the marketing department; ABC ya; ABC, easy as 1-2-3, etc.    ]


Also, lots of other reasons.  I had two starting PG's, both with near-identical ratings.  I got rid of the more expensive one.  Kenyon's and Billups' money offsets Carter's; I didn't want to take on salary for 2008, so moving Billups had to be done for this trade to be acceptable to me.  Additionally, moving Kenyon meant I'd be sliding Camby over to PF; I needed a big body to play C, and Cato fit the bill.

For some reason, KMart never played as well as I thought he should.  Sure, he has the numbers, but he shot too low a percentage for my liking, and since my team was geared around the outside, he didn't really fit in the second time around, i.e. worrying about getting him touches by going away from my team's strength, etc.  Plus, getting rid of his contract frees up my ability to be a player in free agency after next year if I so desire.  So now I have two defensive-minded players at the 4 and 5, and they can just worry about D'ing up and rebounding.  If guys come out to flood the perimeter, I'm fairly confident the Camby/Cato combo can score inside effectively enough to force the defense to pay attention to them.

Carter is up after next year, and this gives me a year or two to see how well the Ray/Vince combo works.  If it doesn't work out, I can keep one and get rid of the other, freeing up some salary.

Hunter becomes a nice backup at center, and QMihm makes up for me losing my first-rounder (I probably wouldn't be able to get a better player than him anyway, since I'm planning on my pick to be a late one    ).  

Both Glover and MoPete were expendable.

For all you doubters, I hope you can now see why I made the Billups trade, and recognize that I didn't lose my mind.

I can see your reasonign for this, but I still don't understand the Nets trade.

I was looking forward to seeing more of the Vince/Kobe combo, I thought they were deadly.

The Nuggets are now the top run and gun team in the league.  Allen, VC, and Boykins are a great offensive group, while being weak defensively.  I think that Camby might lead the league in blocks this season.

Kobe/Kenyon is a nice combo.  And now the Suns have the weakest center position in the league.  It was already weak with Hunter as the starter, and now it looks like Pollard or Collier will be starting.
A nice one two punch for the Suns now...

Raptors: he needed a defensive pf to replace KMart.

I don't agree with the trade though.  I think KMart is a better player than Vince, and with Ray Allen already there, I think he needed an inside presence more than a jumpshooter.

Not to mention, if Vince's defense goes down, that's going to be a terrible wing trio defensively.

Yeah, I don't like this trade for the Nuggs either. There is a big reason that Vince has gone Raptors-Warriors-Suns-Nuggets. He dropped alot in the last TC.

I don't mind risk.  And like I said, I've had Kenyon twice now, and neither time did he fulfill expectations.  I don't know what it is, but he just didn't fit. It also saves me around $46 million too, which is nothing to sneeze at.
And I have a lot more depth now.  We'll see how it works out.

Oh, and I didn't really have a post presence before I traded for Kenyon last year either, and seemed to play better then; Gooden absolutely sucked for me in terms of being an inside force.

I think I'll be alright, but only time will tell.  And how did Carter drop a lot?  From my records, he only went down one in outside and one in handling.

i think the nuggets got ripped for the second time in as many days...neither trade will make a big impact on both sides, they just changed the structure of the teams IMO
