Ok, I gave up ALOT of youth and potential in this trade, along with talent in Barry.  On paper, Celtics probably get better players especially for a rebuilding team.

This is why I did the trade:  Curry wasn't getting time on my team.  Hes a great player but its obvious that Griffin is the big man of the future here.  Secondly, Darko will be a biatch to resign, plain and simple.  I don't like his greed rating.  And Barry, although a great player, doesn;t fit into my long term plan.

In return I got a superstar in Pierce.  My starting 5 is now Griffin, Traylor, Vlad, Pierce, and Mercer.  Thats pretty scary.  Traylor will be a good PF, he averaged great numbers last year and is sign to a great contract.  Also I like Allens ratings, he could get to A- inside this year.  And if this trade doesnt work out, I get HUGE cap relief 2 years from now

Now I'm faced with another probalm, how do I set my scoring options?  Pierce, Mercer, Griffin are all 1rst option players on alot of teams.  I guess its a good problem to have though

So why in the world did they rookie GM do this trade ?

Don't ask me, please. I spent hours and hours (mostly nights as most of you are more than 6 hours behind) to sort out all options and this was simply the best deal available.
Eddy is going to be a monster as a starter and Darko will split time with Jefferson to learn the ropes on the floor. Sasha will back up Pietrus (who's gonna get great this year, btw, just wait and see) and Barry will help me short term until I find a goo young SG. All directed by rookie Snow - which normally spells desaster itself.

Tons of young guys and draft picks and noone knows what they can do. They'll get a chance though and it'll take me half the season to find a lineup scoring more than 50 points - or keeping the pt diff in double digits.

But we'll get through this season stronger and after that we're like the 2004/2005 Chicago Bulls steamrolling the league ...

Is it possible to enter just one guy (like f.e. Chamberlain) in the scoring options ?

The turnovers are just plain out-of-this-world, and I think the scoring and rebounding stats are inflated because he was on such a terrible team.

THAT being said, I can see why the Bulls would do this. Although I think Curry is great, B+ inside, B defense with B potentail for a good price. Yes, Darko would have been hard to resign, so that makes sense.

I also think that Barry will make a great replacment for Pierce. Barry does most of the things that Pierce did.

ALL THAT being said, Tractor Traylor will be a great PF beside Griffin.

He had NO point guard last year to play with.  He was probably handling the ball most of the time last year, hence the turnovers.  This year he has the best PG in the league (a tad bias) to get him the ball.  Pierce wll return to all star form

Celtics: you have to list 3 guys as scoring options.  1 guy can't be listed 3 times.

Pierce may have had issues (mainly turnovers), but so do all of the players the Celtics acquired (Curry's not a particularly good defender or rebounder, Darko's barely competent offensively and is a poor rebounder, Barry's probably the best player acquired and he's 33).

After the Celts add their near certain (high) lotto pick this year, I think they'll be solid. It would have been nice for them to get rid of Raef's contract in one of these deals, but this is a decent trade for them. Remember, Darko was traded for the number 1 pick in the draft this year  
If Curry and Darko can measure up to their potential, this trade heavily favors them.

The Bulls now have a very solid starting 5. On top of that, they have the potential to land a top FA.

Well, I think I like this trade for both teams.

Curry and Griffin are a bad combo together, and Griffin is clearly the better player.  The combo of Pierce and Mercer in the backcourt is one of the better all-around backcourts in the league.

Darko is a nice player to have.  Darko and Al J are an interesting duo...  they could team up to be a great PF/C combo.  But it will be a while.

The Celtics got alot younger quick, and the Bulls have really loaded up for a playoff run.  Although I thought Darko was a great player to have next to Griffin.  But Barry's skills are likely to start going downhill this TC.

Pierce's TO's will go down, because it is likely Mercer will do alot of the ball handling.

if the starting lineup is really Griffin, Traylor, Vlad, Pierce, and Mercer
than you are in big trouble...
griffin isn´t ready to take all the scoring inside and traylor won´t duplicate his numbers now with a team where he won´t touch the ball..
VLad is horrible in my opinion... he is taking bad shots and plays no defense.
Pierce is nice and at sg he should dominate even more but in combo with mercer one will decline since there aren´t enough shots..

if one of the young players really improve in the next two years the celtics got a steal here..
but how long are we waiting now that curry will dominate inside instead his stats dropped down big last year...
darko will be a nice defense Center and if he will increase his rebounding is probably the future at C for the celtics..
Jefferson is almost the same as curry at the moment... can score but no defense and rebounds...
the best part at the moment is that he will have a great passing guard rotation with barry and snow...
with the 08 pick the celtics will be able to fill in for barry or whatever they want..
if he can trade lafrentz for a young sg or something like that the future for the celts look good imo...
