I was looking to trade with the Warriors so I could get him.  Turns out we both wanted the same player, good pick.

Thanks...
I had him rated as the 7th guy overall on my board, and was thrilled when he dropped to my spot.
He is the only B+ defense swingman with A potential in the last 2 drafts.
There have only been 5 total.
Hoping he can get up to an A defense.

You're lucky.

Had the Kings and I been able to work things out financially, I would have taken him 10th.

the only reason he's not a net is because I wasn't able to get things to work financially that wouldn't add a year of salary and keep me from max level fa next year.

Nice pick.  I was hoping that he would drop to #15.

Yeah, the defense is already very good, with the potential to get better.

I'm wondering where Lavar Piatowski, with his current ratings, would have gone in this draft.

Tried as hard as I could to get this pick from the Warriors...  I had a trade lined up that was way in his favor, but I guess he really liked this guy...  I was gonna take Curran with the pick...

Wow....   First time I have ever seen this.

When I moved Hinkle to SF, his defense went up to an A- defense...  I figured the computer assigned the player the position that he was best at...

I got really lucky...

I had that happen last year with Kundla.  When I moved him from SG to PG his defense improves 1 level.

Man, shut up warriors, just shutup.

He could end up being a defensive stud.

Nah, I don't consider A- to be a stud.  A good defender, but not a stud.

Besides, we don't know what kind of a defender he is.  He could be a guy who will force a ton of steals, but not be a good perimeter defender.  Or he could be the opposite.  we just don't know.

True.. Battier is not great at steals, but he is an A defender.  I remember once, Nets, when you said SF's were shooting only 37% against you.  That is impressive...

Plus, I doubt very much actual defensive skills change.  It is actually more the balance the computer uses to calculate the rating for a position that seems to be important.

Hinkle is probably a decent post defender, but a lesser perimeter defender.  But at SF, post defense is more important then it is a SG and PG.  That is why he went up with a position change.

Kundla is the same way.  Perimeter defense is more important for a PG then a SG, so his perimeter defense is probably what bumped him from a B at SG to a B+ at PG.

Remember when Marques Baly was moved from PF to SF, and his defense went up?!?!?  He was probably a pretty good post defender for a SF, but a horrendous perimeter defender, but it bumped him up overall from a C to a C+.
