Warriors agree to this trade...

McDyess - $6,000,000

Delfino - $1,037,280 + Nene - 4,110,052 = $5,147,332

$5,147,332/$6,000,000 = 85.8%

Just barely fits under the 15% rule, but it does  Very Happy

So, why this trade...
I am just thrilled someone was willing to take on McDyess.  Nene is expiring next year, and Delfino has 2 more years left on his contract.

McDyess was a good 4th big man to have, but with Gasol, Odom, Foyle, Kaman, and Cardinal, he had dropped to 6th.  Nene will take his spot on the IR for the year, most likely.  Delfino was salary filler, but maybe I can get lucky and he will have a killer TC...   Laughing

I don't think it works.

5,147,332 * 1.15 = 5,919,432.   Less than McDyess' salary.

But I didn't run it through the spreadsheet checker.

Warriors, you don't check if it's within 15% of your end (which is what dividing the lower salary by the higher salary does), you check if it's within 15% of the lower end (lower end * 1.15)

Ah, but wait.

I forgot to put this in the trade checker.

It's not just lower salary * 1.15 but lower salary * 1.15 + 100k.

Adding that 100k makes it work.  I just "simulated" through the rest of the playoffs and checked, and it will go through the program.

I kind of always wondered about that since that is the rule in the NBA.  I figured it was just one of those small differences between simulation & real life.   Wink

Well, if you didn't pimp your players in every thread you would be closer to the rest of us in post count.   Wink
