It took a while, but since the draft hasn't officially started yet, I may introduce a new feature:

DRAFT CAMP

And here's the rules: All rookies (in fact 96 of the 100) are put on 8 teams, and play a little tournament (using our playoff bracket). All players stay on their team (*) for the whole tournament. You will get to see box scores and play-by-play files from these games, but no roster pages or player pages (and thus no player ratings)

Keep in mind that these are only rookies going up against rookies, no other league players are involved, so don't expect all these results to carry over into the real SSBA season.

And here's the tournament bracket:
http://djsl.fbbleagues.com/Camp2032/playoffs.htm

plus the league leaders from the playoffs:
http://djsl.fbbleagues.com/Camp2032/playoffleaders.htm

Take a look, enjoy, let me know what you think, if you like it.
... and feel free to adjust your draft lists accordingly.

I will wait until Sunday 3pm to kick off the draft - if Bulls and Spurs are still missing then ... let's start the CPU engine.
And i will reduce the draft by two days, to get us going.

So here's the new plan:
DRAFT DAY 1: picks #1 - #8 (Sunday Oct 11th, 3pm)
DRAFT DAY 2: picks #9 - #16 (Monday Oct 12th, 4pm)
DRAFT DAY 3: picks #17 - #29 (Tuesday Oct 13th, 4pm)
DRAFT DAY 4: round 2, #1 - #10 (Wednesday Oct 14th, 4pm)
DRAFT DAY 5: round 2, #11 - #29 (Thursday Oct 15th, 4pm)
Free Agency could kick off on Sunday Oct 18th then.

(*) On a sidenote: To have everyone play at least 8 games I've made the first round losing teams joining the other half of the bracket again, so the Finals have in fact the winner of the tournament going up against the best of the first round losers. But it doesn't really matter who wins.

It will be interesting to find out, if the rookies production in this camp somehow translates into success in the real league.

If anybody made some statistical summary of the draft camp stats, should really make an article
(or send the stats to me, I take care of that)

That way I hope to find out if he should run draft camp with some general game setup next time, or leave it ti the CPU to identify the best settings for it's current personnel (as it was this time)

 Cool
