of the 2013 SSBA Draft:
1) Lakers - Jose Siegel, C, Arizona
2) 76ers - Bennett Fuqua, PF, Kentucky
3) Pistons - Patrick Kent, PF, Duke
4) Hawks - Curtis Davis, PF,Tennessee
5) Sonics - Kenneth Wheat, PF, Ohio State

I know I typically make 5 posts, etc.  But it's 2:30 am, I have to wake up for class in 3.5 hours, and I'm exhausted.

Well, the best big man goes first despite the questionable potential. No real surprise among the top5, although I have to correct the predicion for my man C Olin Minnich from Cinncinati. He should have gone #5, beating Wheat rating- and potential-wise (well, if he didn't enter the draft I might have a chance to sign him as undrafted FA later on ...)

I had enough with versatile players.  Twisted Evil  Thats why I picked Fuqua. I think he's the BPA, rating wise. He's a good inside scorer and a very good rebounder, two aspects my team really need. He might start at the PF position while Tyler would slide to the SF position.

With the fifth pick, I got the fifth best player.  I had the top two flipped on my board, but the top five in this draft definitely went 1-through-5 in my opinion.

Wheat, by the way, gives me a big body who can defend and rebound with A potential.

huh? maybe tyler should start PF? the 6'6" Fuqua should slide over into SF considering his weight and height... Laughing

I'm pleased with my pick, would have liked to get Jose but I'll settle for Davis.  Hopefully his potential pans out and he can be a  B B A type of guy.

I got davis projected at the no.2 overall pick. I think he is an early candidate for ROY.

But unlike Tyler, Fuqua did have poor outside and ball handling skills.

Wouldn't the projected #1 overall pick be the lead candidate for ROY? Why would anyone pick him then #1 ...  Laughing

But honestly, in this draft I think anyone can be considered ROY candidate. There is no clear-cut fav like Tyler last year (and even HE only won 3 of 6 ROTM awards before), and nobody looks like he can make an immediate impact. My guess is the winners and losers of this draft won't be known before some seasons passed by ...

Caused based on my rating system, fuqua is the best player in the draft. And second is davis. I picked fuquad over Davis because I need someone who is already good at his position. Fuqua is B+ in rebounding and B in offense, that means that he can already be good in the league. Not only that, my team lacks a good rebounder and another guy who can score tons of points.

Why I dont think my pick is going to be ROY. I know my rookie is the best rookie in the draft, and he did certainly fill the hole Eddy curry and Carl Harping left in my team, but I just dont have a good feeling that he's going to win ROY.

I had Kent projected as #1 and Siegel #2.   Fuqua is too light to play PF and you have to wonder whether his ratings will translate to the SF position.

yea, Kent's potential loooked pretty good from when I was scouting him, I would have been happy with Kent or Davis and I got Davis.
