I really like my depth now. This is pretty deep team now

Marcus Camby, Danny Fortson, Rasho Nesterovic
Rafeal Araujo, Danny Forston, Rafael Araujo
Chris Bosh, Hidayet Turkoglu, Tracy Mcgrady
Tracy Mcgrady, Stephon Marbury
Mike Bibby, Steph Marbury, Mike Bibby

I would need a true sg backup though, but anyway, i'm satisfied.

This is a DEEP team???
 Laughing

Highest of high comedy calling a squad with exactly 5 (count that, one two three four five) guys for the three backcourt spots and exactly 4 frontline people. That makes a grand total of 9 and won't even let you put a backup at every position, much less what i call DEPTH (three DIFFERENT guys playing at ONE position)

I know exactly what will happen if even one mid-lengthy injury occurs to your deep team ...
 Wink

You're obnoxious! I have 5 big guys, Bosh can also play pf and c as well. The only thing missing as i said is sg backup.

How many minutes you think the game lasts? 68?!

Kings have a very deep team IMO, they just need a backup SG (like he said)

Camby/Fortson
Hoffa/Rasho
Bosh/Hedo
McGrady/ ?
Bibby/Steph

In fact, Blazers were the ONLY team with cap space since the Heat couldn't afford losing TD for nothing and none of the other 3 teams below cap had more than 4mio

Now what exactly you call depth?

If it's the drop-off between starter and backup i tend to agree (at least on 3 positions), Fortson and Steph yould start as well and Rasho is decent.

If it's the ability to make up for a lengthy injury to a starter they are definitely not. TMac, Bibby or Steph going down means their season goes down too. And they aren't exactly young guys and they all will have to log heavy minutes again.

For me it's more of the 2nd explanation, as this is what successful teams need. Just take the champs Nets and Sonics as example, there is a reason they carry a 15man roster (besides stacking/developing talents)

You don't need 15 solid guys to be considered a deep team.  Kings are two deep at every position expect at the 2 spot and their front court is very solid.  Nets and Sonics weren't just deep, they were STACKED.  If we used the Nets as the standard, almost no teams would be considered 'deep' compared to them.  Looking back, I probably shouldn't have called then 'very deep', but they definetely have some depth.

The Heat could have offered a large contract to Drew and to TD and hoped that Drew signed 1st. Signing TD would not have affected signing Drew. I'm not sure if they made an offer to anyone else or not.

I think the Kings have decent depth. Marbury can play the 2 given his scoring and Bosh can defend multiple positions.
I can say that if they lose one of their key starters for the season they are screwed, but I can say that about most teams.
For a long time I used to run an 8 man rotation, and it was effective as far as I could tell (this was mostly in the old league.)

Bods, since there are always so few FAs left by day 4, have you ever thought about running days 4 and 5 together? That would shorten the offseason, and also give GMs more time to finalize their rosters between TC and the first sim.

To end that depth discussion from my side, i agree that the Kings are 7 deep with quality players (starters + Fortson, Steph) ...

... which about every top team in the league is too.

No, the whole point of having 2 different days is so people can submit modifications.

We don't need to go at 100 mph all year.
