The Chase for Davis

First off let me say that I am finally back from watching my lowly Patsies win the Super Bowl. And let me extend my condolences to all the Philly fans for another heartbreaking loss. Just remember, if the Red Sox can win, so can you. Just make amends to Santa Claus for booing him. He’s the reason you’re cursed.

Anyhow, a lot of you have expressed interest in acquiring Ricky Davis. In a previous thread I mentioned that most of the team is available for an expiring contract. With Ricky things are a bit different. I’m not really looking for expiring contracts if I am to trade Davis. I feel (and with all the inquiries it has become justified) that Ricky is more valuable than cap space. At this point I have plans to build my team around him, Jefferson, and Pierce, which means that if I am to trade Ricky I would expect to get somebody of similar dependability in return.

Just keep in mind that Ricky is going to be a tough buy, so don’t be discouraged if your initial offer falls short.
