I think this is one of those deals that works for both parties.

Terp will be my starter, and balance my lineup a little more, he's a good scorer with solid def ratinng(not great, but solid) and i think my core of Kobe,Martin,Hav and Terp with Collier and Lo is good.

I liked Van exel alot, but Hav is my future at PG and he was getting no PT here. Hopefully the Cavs can play him more than 18 minutes a night

The 2 firsts, are going to be in the 15-24 range, and i honestly think that Terp  will be better than any 2 players i get from there

I'm sure the cavs can make magic with those 2 picks.

You better believe it. Terp was a great player to have, but I didn't like that D potential of his. Van Exel already is a very good young SG, and with B potential too. And with two first round picks, I think I got a very nice deal here...

I know that. But basically it's Terp for a guy that is almost equal to him value-wise(Van Exel), and two first round picks, likely in the late teens/early 20s. That is a very good trade.

I do think that terp is the slightly better player, but not by a landslide.  Which evens it out with the 2 firsts.

As i said in my previous post, this deal works out for both teams.

Van Exel was playing 18 minutes a night with me. I have another young PG, and  I beleive that Hav is my future at the point.

I was in need of a SF because the experiment with Rip just hasent worked out. So Terp fills that role for me, so now i think i'm ok at sf, with Terp starting (after his injury) and Rip and Mo pete as backups.

the 2 firsts, yeah it might be a lot to give up, but The core of my team is locked into long term deals, and i have a starter at every spot for the next 3 or 4 years, and my bench is solid , and its locked up for some time too.

I finally have a team i feel 100 percent good with I have 2 stars in Kobe and Kenyon Martin, i have 2 young up and coming players in Hav and Terp, and Hopefully Lo isent really a D pot, and he improves his rebounds a little and plays C for me.

for the cavs this makes a lot of sense.

Van Exel is an A- defender and 22 yrs old, with B pot.

and with 2 firsts he can build arounf Miller,Big Z and Odom.

so i may have given alot, and he got alot, but its pretty even if you look at it, objectively.
