I hesitatingly and sadly agree.

Will there be time to change our DC's?

You can change your DC's.

The roster pages won't be updated by then though.  So you have to go by your head.

I don't think this is a bad deal for the nuggets.

As good of a shooter as ray allen is, him making that kind of money with a C+ defense is tough to swallow.

Wasn't he a B defense when you signed him?

I'd like to see the reasoning for this...Nuggs get a good player in Del Negro(had a good TC and is very efficient) but I think could have got more for Ray Ray....Grizz add another scorer to their team which should help them in the push for a 2nd straight title

If you have been following Del Negro as close as I have than you would all know what a loss this is. But what can I say, I'm not counting on the future but trying to win it all now. Ray Allen has a huge contract nut so do the rest of the guys on my team. I'll still have the LLE and MLE to use. I know that Allen has been declining each year but I feel his impact will still be great for a year or two. My defense does get weaker but its good enough to sustain this loss of Posey. Plus, Allen will hopefully shoot much better than the rest of my team has. Ultimatally, if i don't win it again than the Nuggets came out on top because Del Negro is and will be a stud. He's the second coming of Ray Allen.

if that's right then this isn't a bad deal at all...he'll probably keep declining, but yea JDN looks to be a star in the making

Yeah, I got it all down in Excel.  Just edited my DC.  Thanks.  And yes, Allen was a B defense when I traded KMart for him.  Then I resigned him, and he dropped to a B- last year in TC.  Then this year in TC, he dropped to a C+.  So having that information also played into my decision.

As to why I did this: defense.  Went from a B/C+ in SF/SG to an A-/B.  Dealing Allen is the single-most heartwrenching decision I've had to make thus far in SSBA.  He was the face of the Denver or-gan-EYE-zation.  But his slip in defense, coupled with his contract, simply made him a liability, despite his range.  I wrestled with this move for almost two days before finally deciding to pull the trigger.  To be honest, when I traded for Carter, I always had a resulting Allen trade in the back of my mind, so I suppose I knew it was coming.  But it didn't make the decision any easier.

The key was Del Negro.  Posey's a nice player that allows Vince to move back to SG, but Del Negro's jump this past TC, with him keeping his A potential, made me decide to look toward the future.

This may end up hurting me this season, and I'm prepared for that.  But I think I have now added even more depth to my team, which should allow me to perhaps play a faster style, or just press/trap more to make up for the backcourt's average defense.

The fans in Denver won't be happy with losing Ray, but hopefully they'll be satisfied with knowing that Posey will actually improve the starting lineup this year, and that in Quincy Mihm and Jamal Del Negro, the Nuggets may have a promising tandem in a couple years to take over for Allen.

I'm also sad to see that the Ray and Vince show didn't get a chance to shine, but Allen's contract was going to be a bit of an albatross in a couple years, so like Billy Beane, I decided to move early rather than waiting around a la Ed Wade.
