Sonics agree...I get another guaranteed lottery pick for a few picks that shouldn't be the same in the future.

Podkolzine....I loved having him, but I should get a better center in the draft now.

I have a lot of reasons for doing this trade:

1) Pavel had a good TC, and I think he will improve a lot
2) I don't like this year's draft; I think there is only one or two guys who could become stars, and the odds of the Knicks getting the top pick are slim IMO (check out their point differential compared to the other bad teams)
3) I think it is very difficult to build a team through the draft and free agency, and the Sonics will have to do just that. Even if they land a top FA, almost their entire squad will be made up of 1st and 2nd year players for a few years
4) The Suns, even with two pretty strong players, are still struggling quite a bit. I don't see them being able to fill the holes that they need to through the draft and use of the MLE.

Bottom line, I traded Chris Andersen (who I wouldn't be able to resign b/c of bird years) and my 2009 1st for Podkolzine and 3 1st rounders...

The only way I will be upset with this trade is if I traded the #1 pick.

You don't really have Chris Andersen's bird years, cuz he only signed a two years contract with the Hornets.

Good call, I had not noticed that. That makes Anderson very available at the end of the year....

Yeah, that was a typo, I meant I wouldn't be able to resign him.

Sixers, 2 things.
1) what does that have to do with this thread?
2) Don't do that with the long post, it's really annoying.
