After all the talk here everyone is counting on MJ being a superstar and Bowie being a bust.  I guess it is just lip service for those who profess to understand that this sim league bears ABSOLUTELY NO RELATION to real life.

IN THIS LEAGUE Bowie has as much chance of being better than MJ than the other way around.  Just look at Kings experience with Magic....

Magic is a damned good player who Kings didn't know how to build around.

That may be true...or not.  Maybe Magic isn't the player in SSBA that he was in the NBA.  And just maybe the same will apply to MJ & Bowie.

It is funny that YOU of all the GMs seem to have bought into the the whole line of thinking that Bowie is a bust in SSBA because he was in real life.

I don't think it's so much, in the SSBA, that Bowie was chosen over MJ, but over Sir Charles, the only reason I could think of is the height differential, because Charles looks damn good.  Just my opinion though, I believe Bowie will be better than Jordan in this league.

player 1: SG 20 6'6'' 195 A- C+ B B+ C D

player 2: C 21 7'1'' 235 B- C- C B+ B+ C

Ignoring the names who honestly wouldn't consider trading player 2 for player 1...

of course, who knows about true potential besides people in the top 5 picks or so.  But that doesn't really matter, I remember James Fisher was 98 potential coming into the league, about 5 years ago, I pick him at #12 and improves by 1 handling point.  But in the top 5 with such a tough pick, it's easiest to go on potential

I didn't say Magic was the player he was in the NBA.  I said he was a damned good player.  Two very different things.  20/8/8 with A- defense is a good player.

I wouldn't.

Player one has one very SSBA-ready skill, inside scoring.  He will be one of the top inside scoring guards in the league at his position.  He will also be a solid defender at his position, and a + rebounder and ballhandler.

Player 2 doesn't have one part of the game he's good at.  He's a jack of all trades, master of none.  He's not a good scorer.  He's not a good defender (centers, IMO, really need to be "great" defenders, moreso than guards).  He's a good rebounder.  Good rebounding, decent defense, and so-so offense doesn't do it for me.

Player 1: great inside scorer, good defender, good rebounder, very good ballhandler.
Player 2: Good rebounder, decent defender, mediocre offensive player.

It's not just ratings, but ratings respective to their positions.
