Well, I think 4 years from now you'll realize you're gambling too much on potential.  Some of them might surprise you, but I doubt any one of the potential draftees left get close to being as good as Jackson is now.  And I'm including the next 6 picks in the draft who won't be available at 22.

Do you realize that by 2009, you may have 8 players on their rookie contracts on your team!!!

Hey, if the Spurs Gambit works out, and they find one jewel in the draft and some decent role players, it could be great.  But it will take years to find out....

However, whoever the lucky dogs are that traded for the Spurs 1st round pick in 2007 and 2008 are likely to be very happy...

I think the Spurs can field a decent starting 5 without using one single rookie.  I don't think many of you realize how much experimentation I did with the DC and style of play last year.

But then I may end up with egg on my face.

And you can call me the Jerry Krause of the SSBA.

And those 8 players will cost about $20 mil...that leaves a lot of space left.

And all I am really hoping for is that 2 pan out to be solid starters at their position; the rest can be role players.  I have 4 years and their bird rights to evaluate them.  I may be wrong betting on the draft but the bright spot is if I bomb....I'll have a ton of cap space in 2010 when this rookie class becomes free agents.
