The New Jersey Nets trade:
Mitchell Wiggins Vinnie Johnson Rick Robey Albert King Nuggets first round pick in 2021 Nets first round pick in 2022
to the Chicago Bulls for:
Richard Milner Chuck Redd Bulls 2nd round pick in 2023
I believe there are no trade restrictions here since we're at day 71, and this works in the checker.
Pleasure dealing with Bulls. Seems like a good guy.

Thanks, you too. Bulls accept and cut Caleb Kelly and Broderick Baylor to get our roster down to 15. Rebuilding has begun in Chicago.

Two players that are not in the rotation, one hardly played and a backup, plus two first round picks for two time MVP, the best PG in the league. Nets got the best of Bulls.

It's not my fault his team is so deep I like the futures of all the guys I got, besides Roby obviously. They'll get a lot of playing time for me, so we'll see if they can play. Plus the Nuggets pick could be a good one, right now they have the 10th worst record in the league. Obviously there's the pesky reality that they could make the playoffs, but since the Nuggets are on record saying they are rebuidling, I'm hopeful.

Nets are looking good now. Nuggets' 1st isn't worth much and Nets will have a pretty good record next year. Basically I'd say it's Milner for the Nuggets' 1st and Wiggins, which is a really good deal for the Nets. Bulls probably should have posted a block w/ Milner.

I see the East as being wide open really, with no dominant team. With a fair portion of my team being relatively young and entering their prime (Gminski, Macy, Zollner and Brooks), with a strong veteran cast (Milner - who almost single-handedly killed me last year over and over, Schmalz and Fuqua), I think the Nets can get to - and stay - near the top for a long time - Celts, Pacers and Cavs aren't getting any younger.
More specifically, I should get better production and defensive at the 2 moving Macy there (though I'm not really sure on that - he hasn't played there much for me), and should get better backup PG minutes (from Macy as well).
Milner was target 1B for me among the offers I received - I just couldn't work out a deal for the mystery guy I *really* wanted. Not that I am in any way shape or form disappointed adding this guy. The timing is very right.
For the Bulls, Wiggins is a very nice player who has great defence right now and one day, imo, is a league steals leader and serviceable offensive player. If Bulls can figure out the settings that make Albert King go, he's a great young talent - great ratings for a 20yr old. And the Nuggets pick - despite the relative weakness of teams at and below 6th place in the West, could be very good if he slips into the lotto. If that's the case, I'll be the second guy who had that pick who ends up with egg on his face.

f Bulls can figure out the settings that make Albert King go, he's a great young talent - great ratings for a 20yr old His ratings are of a mediocre offensive player, a mediocre defender, and has little potential. Age means nothing in that scenario. This trade could be even if the Nuggets pick is top 3. Without that happening, the edge goes to the Nets pretty handily.

Giving an MVP for 4 backups (maybe, just maybe Wiggins will develop into a starter, but the rest won't ever), a pick hovering around #11 currently, and a likely #27 pick.
Good job, Nets good handed a title here for some spare parts with little value.
And Bulls just gave away their best, only, most valueable asset, a - let's repeat that - 2-time MVP, perennial All Star, and did not get ONE single piece in return which they might be able to rebuild around (note: you don't rebuild around backups). Amazing. Macy, Gminski, MacCauley, not even one of them. Will throw them back 3-4 seasons.

Just to play devil's advocate, a 2 time MVP is worthless on a 19-33 team. If the players good enough to keep them stuck in mediocrity, what good is it?
Now, you would hope they get more value, but I understand the intent.
