wow, I can't believe the Suns gave up their 1st in this trade.

Edit: I thought the Suns had a much worse record. I suppose they do this becuase they think that Hamilton will be better than any guy they can get in the draft. Statistically, it looks like Billups and Nash are about even (Billups is a little more of a complete player.) Still, Hamilton's contract is ugly, and I don't think he'll improve.

I looked at the trade like this...

Billups for Nash - I wanted more of a pass first kind of PG...

Hamilton for Lottery Pick - I got away from hamilton's contract, and i have the potential to get a really good player in the draft...  and hopefully the luck of the lottery will be with me...  Very Happy

The rest is just fillers...  hornets pick and my pick should both be out of the top 20...

honestly, why does everyone think Richard Hamilton is so awful???  He was basically like the 4th or 5th option on my team and still put up 12 pgg...  on top of that he is only like 27 year old...  Here are some comparable SG:

Aaron McKie SG 31 6'5'' 209 C A- C B+ C- C  $5,500,000
Quentin Richardson SG 23 6'5'' 238 B- B C B- C C  $5,000,000
Cuttino Mobley SG 28 6'4'' 215 C+ A- C B C- C  $5,884,500
Reggie Miller SG 38 6'7'' 195 C A- C+ C+ D+ B $5,625,000
Jerry Stackhouse SG 29 6'6'' 218 C+ B C B C- C  $7,000,000
Jason Richardson SG 22 6'6'' 225 B C+ C B+ C B $10,950,000(next year!)
Kerry Kittles SG 29 6'5'' 180 C+ B+ C A- C- C  $10,266,667
Derek Anderson SG 29 6'5'' 195 C+ B C+ B C- C $8,443,500
Bonzi Wells SG 27 6'5'' 210 C+ C- C- B C- C  $7,700,000

Richard Hamilton SG 25 6'7'' 193 B- C+ C+ B- C- C  $7,312,500

I don't really see how he is really that overpaid...  he does have a long contract, but i think he will improve...  I don't think I raped the SunsGM, but i do think i got a pretty good deal...

Wow... Hands down, a great trade for the Pistons...

Nash is the best ball handling player in the league, bar none (A+ handle)  as long as you can make up for his defense, a great trade.  Chauncey is a lesser Nash, and sadly in SSBA, Rip is a great backup, but not necessarily a good starter
Add to that 2 non- lottery firsts for a lottery first...  Good trade Pistons.

Phoenix is ready for a youth movement in the next 2 years..

why do people "hate" on RIP?

Well, first, it's not hate.  But I think they call it like they see it.  Mediocre scorer (for a sg you want outside shooting to be better than inside), average defense, makes for a good bench player/weak starter, with a bad contract.
