I only wanted Chamberlain because I thought I could get him cheap.

Last year I had just over 10 million in cap room.  I offered Battier 7 million for 1 year (because I wanted room for this year), and chamberlain 3 mil a year starting for a multi-year contract.

But I did offer Battier a day 1 contract, he just didn't accept it until day 2.

I've been looking at it for a while. If I don't win this year, I might be clearing house to get to it.

Haha.

Actually, I'll probably offer everyone multi-year deals this year, and bow out of free agency next year.

My heart couldn't take the draft next year knowing that 3 of my 5 starters, and cornerstone of my team, were all entering free agency.

Besides, the only way I could enter FA with money is if I turn down an offer to Pettit (or he doesn't offer me one).  And turning down one of Pettit's offers would be suicide.

I have been planning for next year's FA class ever since I had 8 draft picks in the first draft.    Very Happy   Using my expirings to help others get cap space may pay off better than actually going into FA.

BTW Cavs 8 draft picks in one draft doesn't necessarily mean a lot....even if it is considered a deep draft like the first draft.

Hey, I doubt that mine will be bunched up into the 20's like yours. And the one good one, Kundla, you traded away... Question

Actually that is the only trade I regret...especially since he kept improving.   Confused    Embarassed

However looking at the picks you have 6 or 7 of them could be playoff teams and then you will have a bunch of picks in the late teens/early twenties.

You never know what will happen in two years. Things could get mixed up, good teams aren't the good teams forever you know.
