Title: Jazz/Magic Post by: MagicGM on April 15, 2005, 09:49:58 PM Kidd
Josh Howard for Francis DQ '09 2nd rounder(magic) Title: Jazz/Magic Post by: SixersGM on April 15, 2005, 11:09:43 PM I think its a solid deal for both teams.
Jazz got a good PG who is 4 years younger than J-kidd. Stevie would be a great fit for his young core. Magic on the other hand got a more matured PG in J-kidd. I also think that this deal will help both these teams, especially in the long run. Also if DQ improves there will be a solid frontcourt. Title: sadasdas Post by: HeatGM on April 16, 2005, 04:40:16 AM its a fair trade for me... although if you have it stat wise....magic wins here but if your thinking one or two years from now then we have a pretty fair deal....jazz would have a young francis and has still a lot more years to come...while magic has kidd, but i doubt it if he can still maintain his caliber for 4 years on his contract with at 16m-21m....
its a fair trade anyhow.... Title: Jazz/Magic Post by: NetsGM on April 16, 2005, 08:48:11 AM guys, no commentating until after both sides have accepted.
Title: Jazz/Magic Post by: MagicGM on April 16, 2005, 08:59:31 AM true.. but... unfortunately, JazzGM told me that he would only agree to the deal IF he already saw other gms opinions...

Title: Jazz/Magic Post by: KingsGM-old on April 17, 2005, 08:34:29 AM i don't like it for the jazz. francis is making way too much money for that kind of stats. i guess he was goin for the youth
Title: Jazz/Magic Post by: JazzGM-old on April 17, 2005, 11:08:30 AM The youth was the main factor. It is very difficult to get a good young PG being that most of them are still in rookie contracts and their owners value their age over Kidd. It also just takes too much cap to match up with Kidd. Francis can now grow with the rest of my players, (Kirilenko, Jefferson, Okur), whereas Kidd would be leaving right as that core hits their prime. I needed to make a move and Francis was the best bet I was going to get considering his youth, his talent, and making the contracts work out. Kidd is also a liability for getting hurt and I was only going to see that getting worse as he gets older. He's already been out close to 30 days this season, I was doing pretty well without him...now Francis comes in giving only 2 assists less a game, and is a more dependable scoring option on a team where he doesn't need to be. On the magic, supposedly he was playing out of position at SG and wasn't even one of the top three scoring options and was still putting up decent numbers.
