Title: Sim 12 done Post by: PacersGM on August 20, 2008, 02:02:51 AM decent siim with wins over cavs, hawks and a blowout of the raptors. still couldn't keep the number 1 seed. at least i don't have to play hornets or cavs. what a monster matchup for a first round
Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: Iverson2Korver43 on August 20, 2008, 02:30:13 AM Finished the season strong with a 44-38 record(20-7 over the last 4 sims), but not good enough in the east... Nice to see Vlade as All-League 1st team, Larry Johnson as Rookie of the Year and All-Rookie 1st team, Terrell Brandon All-Rookie 1st team... Barring a horrible TC, I think I have a 50 win team for next year...
Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: CelticsGM on August 20, 2008, 03:45:12 AM amazing: 14 games above .500 and "just" the #8 seed !!!
and even more amazing: One more win and i'm #2 seed !!! Pretty solid sim beating the Pacers yet again, and won in Atlanta. Too bad Derek went down for the sim after playing just 1 minute ... :moon: Magic did a great tanking job dropping from #4 to #9 in one sim. Congrats ... No awards for the season, not even the #2 steal guy Derek making an all-def team. But my award goes to the team, coming up BIG in BIG games: 3-1 vs. Pacers 3-1 vs. Hornets 3-1 vs. Cavs (just 1-3 against Raps, but i have no idea WHICH of the 15 Raptors teams this season i was facing then) Will face the Raptors in round 1 ... and I like that matchup. Harper will own Magloire, and Munson will have an easy time with whoever is coming up front. Armon/Natt should be a wash, so the key will be us stopping Woodson from scoring more than 22ppg. And I think i have some tricks in my bag for that ... Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: MagicGM on August 20, 2008, 04:17:15 AM amazing: 14 games above .500 and "just" the #8 seed !!! lol. I have no pick. KJ got injured for 50 days [exactly on day 110. lol]and even more amazing: One more win and i'm #2 seed !!! Pretty solid sim beating the Pacers yet again, and won in Atlanta. Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: SixersGM on August 20, 2008, 06:41:11 AM Made a very risky experiment. Im just lucky that i had precise calculation my projected win-loss record to get me the 2nd place in the east.
But if I could turn back the hand of time, I wouldn't want to face the Nets.. Yikes.. Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: BlazersGM on August 20, 2008, 06:54:27 AM Ah, injury's cost us POs. Started with 2-1 without Zeke, he came back but got injured AGAIN ! And then Mottola as well. Too bad, this frontless team with suprisingly good C+ C+ Zollner center still did it above all expectations, but #9 is always the worst position you can get at the end of the season, now i wish i did rebuild, at least we would have a lotto pick, like this its mid one, but well, there's also cash for FA, so hopefully we can make a good draft choice and sign some great player, if we fail, then ill need to rebuild, lets wait and see.
Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: HawksGM on August 20, 2008, 08:25:14 AM ugh, we win 49 games and our prize is the #6 seed and a first round date with the perennial powerhouse Pacers.
Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: Str8westcoasta on August 20, 2008, 08:29:54 AM 5-3 to finish the regular season.
A good year after a slow start see's us finish #2 in the conference,.and now we have a date with Nique and the Kings... A tough test to be sure! Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: HawksGM on August 20, 2008, 08:30:05 AM and I"ll be without Gminski, Rice and Simmons for at least a game a piece, and Sidney Green would be able to return if we were able to get by the Pacers.
Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: CelticsGM on August 20, 2008, 08:31:16 AM ugh, we win 49 games and our prize is the #6 seed and a first round date with the perennial powerhouse Pacers. man, i would LOVE to be in your position. Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: RaptorsGM on August 20, 2008, 10:49:18 AM 4-1 sim coming in, good enough for the 1st seed and best team in the league honours. Corzine cleaned up on the defensive honours at the year-end celebration.
(just 1-3 against Raps, but i have no idea WHICH of the 15 Raptors teams this season i was facing then) Will face the Raptors in round 1 ... and I like that matchup. And I think i have some tricks in my bag for that ... Haha Tom you are a cool guy, an excellent commish, but a tool of a GM. Just to clear up your worries, you will be facing the Raptor team that went 34-8 since Magloire came along and 14-2 sine Gilliam got here, including a 19 point win over the Boston "team to beat" Celtics. But hey, Harper, your 8/8 PG will all-but-certainly "own" my 18/11 PG. Harper is worth every penny of that contract. And for the record, "whoever is coming up front" is Kite, a 11.2rpg/2.5bpg with A defense PF. But let's just wait and see if your mighty, mighty Celtics will score against us, the team that just rolled off 3 straight wins against the Hornets, Sixers and Cavs, holding them to 87, 86 and 86. I think you need to prepare yourself for the inevitable - you once again think you have a far, far better team than you do, and the long time drought in Beantown will continue, as the fans continue to call for a front-office change... ...but seriously, it's all in fun. I'm gonna sweep you with a margain of 15, but I'll still metaphorically shake your hand at the end  Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: CelticsGM on August 20, 2008, 12:08:37 PM Do your troups need such motivational speeches already?
Guess we both know that +15 stuff won't happen, and we're looking forward to answer your call on the hardwood. After taking a much better team (and later champion) to game 7 last season season we're ready for an encore ... :bounce: Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: RaptorsGM on August 20, 2008, 01:30:10 PM Can't hurt, but I should think an 8/8 PG might need a bit more mental prep than a 18/11 PG. Just my opinion that higher stats are better, I think we all know by now you dont share that opinion...hahaha
Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: RaptorsGM on August 20, 2008, 01:43:12 PM Shit, just now scrolled down far enough to notice no Woodson for 4 days. That's gonna hurt alot, I don't the depth I have had in previous years...hopefully he only misses 2 games and not 3. As to who takes his spot, I have no idea...
Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: CelticsGM on August 20, 2008, 03:27:38 PM Can't hurt, but I should think an 8/8 PG might need a bit more mental prep than a 18/11 PG. Just my opinion that higher stats are better, I think we all know by now you dont share that opinion...hahaha exactly. I have the true believe that the sum is larger than the parts. individual accolades are nice, but it's team efforts that win games of course, that was before the "Gault" changed things a bit ... ;-) Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: NetsGM on August 20, 2008, 04:03:29 PM Made a very risky experiment. Im just lucky that i had precise calculation my projected win-loss record to get me the 2nd place in the east. Not sure what to make of my team after a fourth not-so-hot sim in a row, each one of them costly dropping me from 2nd seed to 7th. But if I could turn back the hand of time, I wouldn't want to face the Nets.. Yikes.. And though we tied the season series at two, I wouldn't be so worried 76ers - because I really haven't pinpointed the problem with my team, and have no answer now. I mean, TO's are my obvious biggest issue, and despite various combinations on the offensive side and option groupings, I haven't found a solution - which has been maddening. Doesn't mean I'm done trying , but I'm not that confident...thats for sure. Anyways, good luck to you in Round One. Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: RaptorsGM on August 20, 2008, 04:31:17 PM Can't hurt, but I should think an 8/8 PG might need a bit more mental prep than a 18/11 PG. It's far nicer to have a team that can come together for the 8th seed than a team that takes best overall record in the league  wanna trade teams right now? Of course you don't, you're on a mighty 6-4 run!! Quote of course, that was before the "Gault" changed things a bit ... ;-) Now this we can agree upon! Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: WizardsGM-old3 on August 20, 2008, 05:54:38 PM Cool final sim, with MAR making the all-rookie team and proving to me (albeit in a small sample size) that he can handle playing PG; his offense plays far better there (he was one assist shy of a triple-double in one game), the turnovers looked fine, and with his size he's a much better defender at the point.
